Walt Disney World Hosts Star Wars Weekends Now Through June 12

Walt Disney World announced to additional weekends extending the special events through June 26

With the Star Tours thrill ride serving as the centerpiece of the celebration, Star Wars Weekends fills Disney-MGM Studios with dozens of heroes, heroines, droids, creatures and villains from the famous films for four consecutive weekends (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) beginning May 20, 2005.

Meet-and-greets with famous villains and heroes from all six Star Wars films -- Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith -- bring guests face-to-face with their favorite characters. Guests never know which Star Wars character they'll find around the corner, whether it's the heroic Jedi Luke Skywalker, the poised and regal Queen Amidala, the furry and loyal Chewbacca or the evil Siths Darth Vader, Darth Sidious and Darth Maul.

Star Wars celebrities are special guests during each weekend, taking part in meet-and-greet sessions, star conversations and Hollywood-style motorcades. This year, fans will get to hear from actors and the creative forces behind the film saga.

    • Celebrity Autograph Sessions (Mickey Avenue near Backlot Tour) -- 10a, 2:30p, 4p. FASTPASS tickets are required to receive an autograph. They are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
    • Behind the Force (ABC TV Theater) -- Fans can take a step behind-the-scenes of Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith in a special film presentation that outlines the making of the long-anticipated summer movie. 10:00a, 11:00a, 12:00p, 2:45p, 6:00p
    • Jedi Training Academy presented by Hasbro (Star Tours Stage) -- Kids are invited to test their lightsaber skills. 9:30a, 10:20a, 12:30p, 1:20p, 2:10p, 3:00p, 3:50p, 4:40p, 6:30p
    • Paduwan Mind Challenge (Star Tours Stage) -- Guests 11 and under can test their Star Wars knowledge for a chance to become an official Paduwan learner. Registration begins at the Information Desk across from Sounds Dangerous at 9a. The Challenge begins at 12p and 6p.
    • Who Wants to Be A Millionaire - Play It! - Star Wars Edition -- 10:30a, 11:45a
    • Legends of the Force: A Star Wars Celebrity Motorcade (Hollywood Blvd) -- Motorcade featuring the two Star Wars celebrity guests and other Star Wars characters. At the parade's conclusion the participants will pose on the Star Tours stage for a photo. 11:15a, Star Tours Stage Welcome 11:30a
    • Stars of the Saga - Star Wars Celebrity Talk Show (ABC TV Theater) -- The two Star Wars Weekends celebrities share stories about the creation of the Star Wars saga. The presentation concludes with an audience question and answer session. 1:30p
    • Tatooine Trivia Trials (ABC TV Theater) -- Guests 12 and up can test their Star Wars knowledge. Registration begins at the Information Desk across from Sounds Dangerous at 9a. Trials begin at 4p.
    • The Hasbro Zone (Backlot Express) -- Guests can try the new Star Wars Lightsaber Battle Game or Attacktix, the battle figure game. 9a - 8p
    • Star Wars Weekends Hyperspace Hoopla (Star Tours Stage) -- Guests and Star Wars characters gather for the day's closing event. 7:00p
    • Star Wars Characters (Star Tours Area & Mickey Avenue) -- Take a photo or get the autograph of your favorite Star Wars characters. 9a - 6:30p. Jedi Mickey appears inside the Sounds Dangerous theater 9a - 7p.
    • Author Signings (The Writer's Stop) -- Saturday, May 21st Matthew Stover who wrote the novelization of Revenge of the Sith will sign his books. 11a-1p; 2:30p-4:30p; 6:00p-7:30p
