Corbin Bleu, star of popular Disney Channel movies "High School Musical" and "Jump In!," today unveiled the first customized channel created by a celebrity on Disney.com, highlighting the site's new offerings. Unveiled at a Disney.com event at the World of Disney store in Manhattan, Corbin's channel (www.disney.com/corbin) features Corbin's favorite selection of Disney.com games, videos and music. In addition to unveiling his channel, Corbin also celebrated the release of his debut solo album from Hollywood Records, "Another Side.""It's exciting to introduce this cool new feature and create my personal channel on Disney.com. It's great to be able to bring together all the things I love about Disney all in one place. I can watch movie clips, listen to my favorite tunes, chat with my friends and play cool games at the same time," Corbin said.
Disney.com, the number one online entertainment destination for kids and parents, now offers an enhanced broadband entertainment experience for Disney.com guests called Disney Xtreme Digital(SM), or Disney XD. Using the latest technology, Disney XD brings together compelling Disney-branded online entertainment, a family-friendly community and unique customization features to give kids, families and Disney fans like Corbin a new way of experiencing the Web.
"We're proud to have Corbin as the first celebrity to create a channel on Disney.com. His channel illustrates how Disney XD is such an exciting development in new media entertainment," said Paul Yanover, executive vice president and managing director, Disney Online. "Disney XD allows Corbin's fans to watch his videos, enjoy his new music, play a 'High School Musical' game, and chat with their friends all at the same time. Kids today are consummate multi-taskers and they are enthusiastic to join in online community. Disney XD delivers on that and provides a compelling environment whether it's Disney in general or Corbin Bleu in particular."
"We think kids are going to have a lot of fun exploring Disney XD to create and publish their own channels, and parents can rest easy knowing it's a Disney site."
