"Year of the Mouse" Comes to the Disneyland Resort

(January 29, 2008) For the first time in 10 years, the Disneyland Resort is commemorating the Lunar New Year The Year of the Mouse. In honor of this special occasion, a special photo location will be available on Main Street, U.S.A. from February 5 29 where Mickey and Minnie will be on hand wearing Asian attire. Also available will be signage in English, Chinese, Vietnamese and Korean featuring highlights of the Lunar New Year.
In addition, Mickey Mouse will appear in the 2008 Golden Dragon Parade on February 9 in Los Angeles Chinatown. The annual event draws more than 110,000 spectators and has become a community favorite over the past 20 years.

"Marking the year is especially meaningful as the Year of the Mouse occurs only once every 12 years," said Xiomara Wiley, Vice President, Disneyland Resort Marketing and Multicultural Marketing. "We are excited to pay tribute to this momentous occasion with Mickey and Minnie and Disneyland Resort Guests from around the world."

Hong Kong Disneyland will commemorate the Lunar New Year in a grand fashion by combining the best Chinese New Year traditions with Disney's unique style of entertainment, dcor and food offerings.
