Lisa Haines Appointed Vice President, Communications for the Disneyland Resort

(May 7, 2008) Lisa J. Haines has been named vice president of communications for the Disneyland Resort, effective June 1, 2008. Haines will report to Kristin Nolt Wingard, senior vice president of public affairs.

In her new role, Haines will lead the Resort’s communications functions, including media relations, internal and guest communications and issues management. She will also be responsible for external communications and developing engagement strategies with key stakeholders. Haines will serve as a top spokesperson for the Resort, and will be responsible for growing relationships with the news media and other external influencers.

“We are thrilled to have Lisa join the Disneyland team,” said Nolt Wingard. “We look forward to Lisa’s leadership and her expertise, particularly as we prepare to embark on the exciting expansion of the Disneyland Resort.”

Haines currently serves as vice president of external communications for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, where for the last four years, she has overseen media relations and key stakeholder communications. In this role, Haines has worked closely with the Disneyland Resort and the other resorts around the world, as well as with Disney Cruise Line, Disney Vacation Club, Walt Disney Imagineering and Adventures by Disney to develop global communications strategies.

Before joining The Walt Disney Company in 2004, Haines served as vice president, corporate communications for Health Net, Inc., one of the country’s largest managed health care corporations. In this role she served as the chief spokesperson for the company, directed external communications and media campaigns at the national level, and oversaw internal communications company-wide.

Prior to her Health Net experience, Haines worked for McNally Temple Associates, Inc., a Sacramento, California-based political consulting, public relations and public affairs agency. During her tenure there, she worked on corporate accounts, as well as political campaigns, where she developed public affairs and communication strategies targeting key external stakeholders.

Haines, who grew up in Northern California, received her Bachelor of Arts in political science from California Polytechnic State University. She will relocate to the Orange County area in the coming months.
