(January 16, 2009) Disney Online, which produces the No. 1 ranked kids� entertainment and family community Web site (www.Disney.com), led 2008 as the No. 1 ranked kids entertainment and family community site in average monthly unique visitors and average monthly video streams after factoring in just-released December data from comScore Media Metrix. The site averaged 28.9 million monthly unique visitors in 2008, reaching an all-time record in August with 32.3 million unique visitors. For video streams Disney Online was also ranked No. 1, averaging 136 million video streams per month, which also puts the site among the top ten video properties among all Web destinations.

Disney.com also saw strong growth on its mobile Web site with an average monthly increase of 50% in page views since it launched in Oct. 2007. The mobile site has also streamed over 1.5 million minutes of audio and generated 68,000 custom character greetings.

�2008 was a banner year for Disney Online. The record unique visitors and video streams we saw over the past year demonstrate the site has hit its stride as an entertainment destination,� stated Paul Yanover, executive vice president and managing director, Disney Online.

In December 2008, Disney Online showed strong leadership in a variety of highly competitive categories:

  • Club Penguin is the No. 1 ranked kids� virtual world in terms of monthly unique visitors
  • Disney Games sites ranked No. 3 in Online Games
  • DisneyShopping.com ranked No. 2 in the Retail-Toys category
  • Disney Travel sites ranked No. 3 among Travel Hotel/Resort Web sites
  • DisneyChannel.com ranked No. 3 among Entertainment-Television sites

Key entertainment highlights from 2008 include:

  • Launch of full-length film streaming with the Wonderful World of Disney in June
  • Camp Rock full-length streaming event resulting in a record 863,000 video streams in one day
  • U Rock the Summer user generated content event resulting in thousands of guest-submitted videos and more than three million views of U Rock videos on Disney.com

Additionally, Disney Online is kicking off 2009 with several exclusive entertainment events including:

  • Kid�s Inaugural: We Are the Future concert event will be streamed in its entirety following the television premiere on Disney Channel on January 19 (www.Disney.com/USA)
  • UPisode, an exclusive animated short featuring characters from the upcoming Disney�Pixar film UP will be featured on Disney.com on Saturday, January 31 � Thursday, February 5
  • High School Musical 3: The Making of a Musical - From the Recording Studio to the Big Screen. On February 16 Disney.com will offer a 35-minute behind-the-scenes look at all the music from the movie phenomenon. The video is also featured on the High School Musical 3: Senior Year 2-Disc Premiere Edition Soundtrack from Walt Disney Records.

About the Kids Inaugural: We Are the Future

Disney.com will stream the entire Kids Inaugural: We Are the Future concert event following its television premiere on Disney Channel on January 19 (www.Disney.com/USA). Event performers include Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato and Bow Wow, and presenters include Billy Ray Cyrus, Keke Palmer, Usher and Shaquille O'Neal. Beginning on January 16, Disney.com guests can join the celebration on the Kids Inaugural page, which will feature online polls and many different games and videos related to the concert performers. Guests will also be able to chat with their friends online and send �shout outs� by texting USA, their first name and shout out message to DISNEY (347639)*. Disney Family.com, a parent-focused site also produced by Disney Online, will help celebrate the inauguration with star-spangled crafts, recipes, and printables the entire family can enjoy, as well as an in-depth look at new First Family.
