Earlier this year, the Rogers family headed to the Disneyland® Resort for a day. The trip was made possible through the Disneyland® Resort 2009 Community Involvement Program.

Every January and February, the Resort partners with more than 150 schools and organizations including nonprofits, regional centers and residential care facilities that provide services to individuals with disabilities.

The program offers California guests with permanent disabilities the opportunity to visit the Disneyland® Resort with up to five others at a highly reduced rate.

Amy Rogers, whose five-year-old son, Soren, has a disability, found out about the program through one such regional center.

“We were hoping to visit this year and this program made it more financially possible, especially during these economic times,” said Rogers. “We had a wonderful visit, Soren really enjoys the rides that are in the dark – such as Peter Pan's Flight – he perks up at them.”

Each year, the program touches the lives of 40,000 California guests with disabilities – providing them the opportunity to visit either Disneyland® Park or Disney's California Adventure® Park.
