Disneyland Resort Reaches Agreement with Craft Maintenance Council

Company has successfully negotiated eight agreements

in the last two years on behalf of 11,100 workers

(April 28, 2010) Disneyland Resort and its Craft Maintenance Council are pleased to announce that they have reached a five-year collective bargaining agreement. The agreement was negotiated in just over a month and was ratified by an overwhelming margin. It marks the first time in more than two decades that Craft Maintenance Council members approved such an agreement on the first vote.

This is a great example of labor and management working collaboratively and cooperatively for the good of our Cast to reach a fair and competitive agreement,” said Steve Eisenhardt, vice president, labor relations for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts.

“It’s gratifying to be able to negotiate a contract that provides annual wage increases of 3 percent over the next five years, particularly in today’s challenging economic climate,” said Jim Adams, chief negotiator for the Craft Maintenance Council.  “The fact that our members approved the agreement on the first vote, demonstrates that they appreciate the hard work on both sides of the negotiating table to ensure an equitable agreement.”
