(January 20, 2011) Tokyo DisneySea® Park will be celebrating its 10th anniversary with the “Be Magical!” special event starting April 23, 2011. Every time guests visit the Park during this yearlong event, they will find “Be Magical” experiences—from major new entertainment programs and attractions to seasonal special events, merchandise, menus, decorations and more!

The celebrations will kick off with the new nighttime spectacular, “Fantasmic!” Mickey Mouse as the Sorcerer’s Apprentice will create a world of fantasy and imagination on the waters of Mediterranean Harbor. Other entertainment includes a limited period greeting show “Be Magical!” (thru June 30) featuring the Disney friends dressed in 10th anniversary costumes, a revue titled “A Table is Waiting” at Dockside Stage in front of the S.S. Columbia, and other programs filled with magic and fantasy.

Moreover, during this 10th anniversary event year, a new character greeting facility called Mickey & Friends’ Greeting Trails will open at Lost River Delta, providing yet another venue to meet and snap photos with Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and Goofy. And to commemorate the “Be Magical!” event, Magical Hat monuments in the shape of giant sorcerer’s hats will appear in each of the themed ports with a hidden “magic” feature for the guests to enjoy. The shops and restaurants within the Park will also offer a variety of special merchandise and menus filled with wonder and enchantment, befitting the “Be Magical!” event.

Tokyo DisneySea 10th Anniversary “Be Magical!” event will continue to offer a variety of programs by the seasons throughout the year. With Mickey Mouse spreading the Disney magic and fantasy, the 10th anniversary year is certain to “Be Magical!” for all.

Entertainment Programs

Nighttime Spectacular “Fantasmic!”
Location: On the waters of Mediterranean Harbor
Duration: Approx. 20 minutes

Taking place at night on the waters of Mediterranean Harbor, this spectacular entertainment features Mickey Mouse as the Sorcerer’s Apprentice who creates a breathtaking world of wonder and imagination. Guests will be spellbound by the fantastic scenes from many familiar Disney films such as Aladdin, Cinderella and Finding Nemo, as well as a thrilling sequence of Mickey fighting a gigantic dragon. Filled with special effects using water and  fire, this dramatic show promises an evening of unforgettable fantasy and excitement for all.

Greeting Show “Be Magical!” (through June 30, 2011)
Location: Mediterranean Harbor
Duration: Approx. 20 minutes

Guests will be able join in this show and be a part of the wonderful Disney magic. At the start of the show, Mickey Mouse arrives at Mediterranean Harbor aboard a special barge. As he calls out “Be Magical!” together with the guests, the magic spreads throughout the area, bringing Disney characters dressed in 10th anniversary costumes to Mediterranean Harbor. Together, they celebrate the milestone year with lively music and colorful dancing.

A Table is Waiting
Location: Dockside Stage
Duration: Approx. 30 minutes
Performances: 5 Daily

Having just returned from a world cruise aboard the luxury liner S.S. Columbia, Mickey Mouse and his friends, with Lumiere serving as host, present the American hamburger, Japanese makunouchi bento and other foods they have brought back in this humorous, musical show.
(Main characters: Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Pluto, Goofy, Chip ’n Dale, Lumiere)
Note: “A Table is Waiting” was originally presented in autumn 2008 as a popular show offered for a limited period only. It has been updated, including new costumes for Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse.

New Character Greeting Facility

Mickey & Friends’ Greeting Trails
Location: Lost River Delta
Duration: 15 min. after Park opening to 45 min. before Park closing (hours may change)

Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and Goofy will each be waiting in one of three differently themed structures to greet guests and take keepsake photos in this new character greeting facility. Along the route leading to the character they want to meet, guests will find a variety of activities that will make them feel like explorers themselves.

Shops

Special Merchandise
Nautilus Gifts, specially decorated in celebration of the 10th anniversary, will serve as a concept shop, and together with Emporio and other shops will offer approximately 300 types of special items. Regular items such as Mickey Mouse plush toys and Duffy’s costumes will be offered in a 10th anniversary edition, in addition to “magical” items such as Fun Caps designed with the Magical Hat in theme with the “Be Magical!” event.

Among these, the interactive Magical Wands (2,500 yen) will be introduced into the Park for the first time. When guests wave their wands at the special monuments inside the Park, the wand will emit sound and light as it increases its “magical” power. When guests make the round of all six monuments and gather the magical powers into their wand, they will be presented with an original Magical Medal as proof of their apprenticeship as a sorcerer.

In addition, approximately 60 different items commemorating the debut of “Fantasmic!” will be offered at the shops. Items include pendants and hairbands that light up, perfect for enjoying the nighttime spectacular, as well as uchiwa fans and other merchandise that have the “Fantasmic!” grand debut logo.

Collaborative Merchandise
The Tokyo DisneySea original fashion brand “D’24” at Venetian Carnival Market will offer distinct merchandise in collaboration with Samantha Thavasa Japan Limited, an internationally renowned fashion brand popular with young, fashion-conscious women around the world.
Note: Sales of collaborative merchandise begin April 24, 2011.

Restaurants

Special Menus
During the 10th anniversary event period, guests can enjoy not only the delicious menus but also the festive atmosphere of the restaurants decorated for the event. Cafe Portofino will be transformed into a themed restaurant called the “Be Magical! Cafe” where guests can enjoy special menus in an atmosphere decked out for the milestone celebration. Other special course menus will be offered at the table service restaurants within the Park, as well as meals and desserts that come with a lunch case or a souvenir item designed with the Disney characters dressed in 10th anniversary costumes. At Sailing Day Buffet, guests can dine on items that appear in the new regular show “A Table is Waiting.”

Food Vouchers & Collectible Spoon
Food wagons in American Waterfront will offer a “Special Food Vouchers & Collectible Spoon Set” (3,000 yen). Guests who purchase this set can enjoy a special set menu at Miguel’s El Dorado Cantina, Yucatan Base Camp Grill, Casbah Food Court, or Zambini Brothers’ Ristorante. They will also receive a food voucher good for 500 yen worth of food items valid at any of the restaurants and food wagons within Tokyo DisneySea Park. Note: The collectible spoons will be offered in different designs depending on the season.

Decorations

Each of the themed ports will have a monument in the shape of a Magical Hat (sorcerer’s hat), created by the Disney characters in their role as magical ambassadors. When guests wave their Magical Wands (special merchandise) at the monuments, the wands will emit sound and light, making the guests feel as if they have become a sorcerer themselves.

Mediterrenean Harbor (DisneySea Plaza) Mickey Mouse A Magical Hat approximately 8 meters tall that appeared out of the waters of the
DisneySea AquaSphere. This is where all of the Disney characters from all of the themed ports come together.
American Waterfront Minnie Mouse A pink Magical Hat that appeared out of a fountain in New York. It features a large ribbon and a heart-shaped ornament.
Lost River Delta Donald Duck A Magical Hat that appeared out of ancient magic. It is designed like an ancient ruin, and has vines climbing around it.
Mysterious Island Goofy A Magical Hat with designs that fuse together science and the minerals from nature. The crystal is its key emblem.
Port Discovery Chip n Dale A Magical Hat that sits on a unique pedestal designed with spiral lines and the swirl of a storm. It is small to match the size of Chip ’n Dale.
Mermaid Lagoon Ariel A Magical Hat created in the image of King Triton’s Castle. Corals and large starfish give it an appealing, girlish look.
Arabian Coast Genie A Magical Hat with the Genie’s friend, the Magic Carpet, wrapped around it.

Other Tokyo DisneySea 10th Anniversary Programs

Entertainment
The Disney characters, music bands and Fun Custodial members will put on collaborative performances as part of the 10th anniversary atmosphere entertainment.

Guided Tours
Cast Members with an in-depth knowledge of the Park will guide guests on a fun and informative tours. There are two tours opening for the 10th anniversary. Guests on the “DisneySea Academy: Let’s Entertain!” tour will be able to participate in the show “A Table is Waiting.” The “Journey into Disney Magic” tour will also be available, where guests will encounter some surprises during their tour. (Separate fees apply.)

Tokyo DisneySea Hotel MiraCosta 10th Anniversary
Also celebrating its 10th anniversary is the Tokyo DisneySea Hotel MiraCosta. Guests staying at the hotel during this 10th anniversary period will receive a 10th anniversary limited-edition room key, and will be able to purchase special hotel merchandise only available to them. The hotel’s restaurants and lounge will also be offering special menus inspired by the new nighttime spectacular “Fantasmic!” as well as the special event at the Park.

Disney Resort Line
The Disney Resort Line will be specially decorated in celebration of its 10th anniversary.
