Rod Miller celebrates 30 years at Disneyland? Imagine that!

"Imagine That!"

On October 1, 1969, Disneyland changed forever. On that day, Rod Miller began his career as the Coke Corner piano player. Since then, thousands, if not millions of guests have had the pleasure of hearing Ragtime music played in Rod's unique style. Last Tuesday, a party was held to honor Rod's anniversary. My wife Rebekah, keeper of the Rod Miller Website, organized the party which was attended by over 70 fans. The highlight was Rod getting up telling stories about Disney, life and especially his childhood. He had the whole crowd laughing and, at times, crying. I believe my wife is going to be speak about Rod in her Forever Magical column next week, but I wanted to take this opportunity to say Happy Anniversary to Rod Miller. I hope there are many more years to come.

And speaking of columns, this week it's once again time for the West Side of the Kingdom. This month Rick West will give his views of Disney's California Adventure and how it stacks up against the expansion taking place across town at Knott's Berry Farm. Given how candid Rick can be, I'm know I'm looking forward to that one.

I'd like to apologize for taking so long to get the past couple of trivia contests graded. We will definitely get the results up this week. Be sure to check out this week's contest on Disneyland and to take the online poll on mixed live action/animated films.
