Are you getting excited for Dinosaur???

Dinosaur
17 days and counting, are you getting excited??? Usually there's kind of a buzz in the air when Disney releases a major new animated film and Disney's next major release is Dinosaur on May 19th. This being Disney's first 3D computer animated feature without Pixar, I'd expect it to be getting lots of attention.

When the first trailer for Dinosaur appeared many months ago you could hear the collective "WOW!" being heard on the Internet. The visuals were absolutely stunning and the buzz had begun. However, the latest trailers show a different side of Dinosaur - the dinosaurs talk. And the response from my Disney fans has been less than enthusiastic. I've also heard of some disappointment with the apparent plot with some saying it's too similar to A Bug's Life.

As for me, I try to leave the pre-viewing opinions to others. But I will admit I'm not counting down the days like I was for Tarzan. But I will be there to see it and I expect I will like it. It's hard for Disney to disappoint me with an animated (or partially animated) film.

Speaking of Dinosaur, Disney has announced the name of Countdown to Extinction at Animal Kingdom will be changed to Dinosaur to coincide with the film. Time will tell if other tie-in changes will be made as well. Personally, my favorite Disney dinosaurs are the ones in the Primeval World.

If you want to build up your own buzz level for Dinosaur, I suggest you look into the following links:

This Week
This should be a pretty exciting week on LaughingPlace.com. The May 2nd Disneyland Update is already up. On Wednesday, we'll have the latest edition of Indigo's Dispatch from Disneyland column. And towards the end of the week look for a new book review and a very interesting interview with a name you're sure to recognize. This week's Trivia Contest is all about the attractions the Sherman Brothers did music for and this week's Online Poll asks the question "Would you like to take a trip on the Disney Cruise Lines?"
