Guest Relations: A Great Ride

For those of you who have never been on the “Great Movie Ride” at Disney Studios, the ride is an interesting mix of audio-animatronic scenes and live actors.

Word is that now, the ride will be revamped to integrate portions of this summer’s animation rejuvenation, Tarzan.

As long as a guy in a loin cloth doesn’t hop in the vehicle, I’m fine with it.

A great idea would be to just pluck Tarzan into the scenes already on the ride. For example, as Dorothy has trouble finding which way to go, out comes Tarzan flying on his vine. “Me Tarzan, you follow the yellow brick road.”

Or, in a twist on Casablanca, Rick Blaine, already saddened to see Ilsa leaving without him, is horrified even more to see a guy with a loin cloth waiting at the door of the plane. “You may have Paris,” Ilsa says, “But I’m going to be Queen of the Jungle."

Window of Praise: Would it be too much to ask that Imagineer Bob Baranick receive a coveted Main Street window at Disneyland?

Add Disneyland: Al Lutz, besides running the fabulous Disneyland Information Guide, used to have a hilarious site known as Promote Paul Presser.

Let me be the first to vote for the creation of a "Don't Promote Cynthia Harriss" web site. She showed that she was the exact contrast of the cold Pressler with her triumphant entrance at the June Haunted Mansion event.

She practically earned as much love in Disneyland fans' hearts as Fantasmic! for her decision to let the Davy Crockett Canoes continue past the summer season.

Don't throw her overboard.

Something Disney Fans Would Like to See: A new court-themed TV show called “Judge Minnie.” If a litigant misbehaves, she sicks Pluto at them.

Something Disney Fans Would Not Like to See: Mickey and Minnie end up on Divorce Court. Toontown will never be the same, and they may just have to divide up Fantasyland between the two of them.

Broadway Bound: So, Pinocchio is joining Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King on Broadway.

The concept has a lot of potential. If it's anything like past Disney productions, the idea of a puppet without strings won't seem as far-fetched after all.

Let's just hope that Pinocchio doesn't come out trying to stop the opera, fighting the French Revolution or wearing a cat costume.

What if It Was a Disney Movie: The 13th Warrior would be known as “The Golden State Warriors” and star Emilio Estevez. Shortly after the release of the movie, Disney would buy the Warriors franchise of the NBA. Three years later, they would sell the team.

Until next time ... Don't take the mouse into your own hands, take the mouse to court.
