The latest issue of the Disneyland Line had lots of information on next year's activities to celebrate Disneyland's 45th anniversary. Among them:
- The motto will be "45 Years of Magic". The main logo will feature the castle and the Fab Five.
- There will be a "45 Years of Magic Parade" featuring many classic and modern Disney stars in a celestial setting. There will be eight floats representing several themes including a new Blue Fairy, and Princess Swan Boat, the Lion King, Fantasia/2000 and others. 46 characters in all, 26 performers, and guests will play a part in each performance. The parade is scheduled to debut on February 18th.
- The new firework show will be "Believe ... There's Magic in the Stars" and will feature new types of pyrotechnics including a low level ground pyrotechnic not before used in the park.
- New merchandise programs including the Nostalgia Program celebrating Disneyland history, the Art of Disneyland 45 Years of Magic featuring 11 artists commissioned to create their artistic interpretation of 45 Years of Magic, a Character of the Month and a 45th Anniversary commemorative passport.
- The Mickey Matterhorn Climb will return.
- New 45th anniversary Cast Member name tags should premiere on New Year's Eve.
Tree Lighting at the Disneyland Hotel
Each night during this holiday season the Disneyland Hotel presents a Tree Lighting
ceremony. The ceremony is held at the Christmas Tree located between Hook's Pointe, the
Lost Bar and Goofy's Kitchen. It begins at 5:45 p.m. and lasts less than 10 minutes. It
begins with the Dicken's Carolers singing Christmas carols. Then a young volunteer is
brought on stage to press the button Unfortunately, it fizzles. Next maintenance is called
to help and who shows up? None other than Goofy himself. After an amusing false start
Goofy finally figures things out and the tree and the rest of the lights at the hotel
slowly come on - section by section - until the whole hotel is brilliantly lit.

Elsewhere at the Disneyland Hotel and Disneyland Pacific Hotel little holiday treats continue to pop up.

and an Angel projected on the hotel itself.
