The Tour
We don't want to give away the tour itself, so this report will go through the
locations visited with a few words about what was discussed there without going
into detail. Our tour guide was also the writer the tour script, J.D.
Our tour guide, J.D.
The tour begins in front of City Hall with an introduction of the tour guide and the tour participants. A few trivia questions are also asked - some fairly easy for Disneyland buffs and some no one in our group seemed to know the answer to.
Stop 1, The Walt Disney Story: We watched the pre-show film about Walt and our guide talked the originals of the Disney Company and Roy Disney.
Stop 2, Town Square: J.D. talked about Walt's difficulties financing Disneyland.
Stop 3, Below Walt's Apartment: Disneyland's opening day
Stop 4, Main Street Cinema: The origins of Mickey Mouse
Stop 5, Center Street: Ron Dominguez's Window and Chinatown
Stop 6, Plaza Inn: Walt's private dining room and the beginnings of Club 33. Also the origins of the tour guide program.
