Mickey as Construction Worker and it's no Y-M-C-A…..

It is said that 70% of people living in the Tokyo Metropolitan Area have already visited Tokyo Disney Resort at least once and an incredible 90% of guests are repeat visitors.

In recent years, some large leisure institutions have been constructed in the metro area and destinations for resort and leisure are increasing at a rapid rate. The operator of the Tokyo Disney Resort, the Oriental Land Company (“OLC?), wants to become a true multi-day vacation destination. Therefore, in order to become a “destination resort?, OLC is considering introducing many new facilities in the resort to provide guests who visit Tokyo Disney Resort with a wider choice of entertainment and leisure facilities to enjoy. One of these strategies is the construction of the third Disney-branded hotel at Tokyo Disney Resort.

The Disney characters of Mickey, Donald, Goofy and Chip & Dale appeared in the safety prayer festival which was held at the planned construction site in front of the entrance of Tokyo Disneyland on February 14th, and Chairman Toshio Kagami, President Yoshiro Fukushima, et al. carried out the groundbreaking ceremony of the first spadeful of dirt following a traditional procedure. A new hotel named "Tokyo Disneyland Hotel" is scheduled to open in 2008 and will have about 700 guest rooms. The hotel is to be the first truly family destination resort at Tokyo Disney Resort as a significant number of comfortable four-person rooms will be available (considerably more than are currently available at the Disney Ambassador Hotel and Tokyo DisneySea Hotel MiraCosta). For the first time families will want to spend time in their rooms and enjoy the hotel room as there will be more space for them. The amount of the resort investment is about 44 billion yen, (approximately $380 million), including the new multi-story parking lot (similar to the existing structure adjacent to Tokyo DisneySea) that is required as the new hotel is located on the existing space of the Mickey parking lot. Nightly room rates are expected to be about the same as the Tokyo DisneySea Hotel MiraCosta.
