MEV Vacation Tips: A Magical Cruise for our Multi-Generational Vacation
Page 1 of 1
Recently, we booked a 4-night Disney Cruise Line® vacation with our 15-month-old granddaughter and even allowed her to invite her parents. And just for good measure, we also included the great-grandparents. We planned our cruise with the confidence that everyone from 77-year-old great grandpa to the 15-month-old granddaughter would have a blast, and we were not disappointed!
There is a water play are next to Mickey's Pool and it is designed with the non-potty-trained in mind! It has interactive water fountains, a soft bottom and is surrounded by a sitting bench, perfect for grandparents and great-grandparents alike to sit and watch the little ones play! On our lazy day at sea, a Disney Cast Member brought a few age-appropriate water toys to the water play area for an added treat!
Strollers are available for check out on a first come, first serve basis or you can bring your own. Umbrella strollers are best, as they are easily stored in your stateroom. The Disney Cruise Line® ships have laundry rooms conveniently located on each deck and all it takes is a quick swipe of your Key to the World card and your load of laundry will be charged to your room. Laundry soap, fabric softeners, and dryer sheets are also available for purchase.
Each stateroom has a bathtub, which makes bath time very easy! Bibs, booster chairs or high chairs are ready and waiting for you at each of the restaurants. We chose Deluxe Staterooms with Verandahs and were able to get connecting rooms. This made naptime a bit easier; while our granddaughter slept soundly in bed, we visited in the next room or hung out on the verandah. However, if a verandah room is not in your budget, no worries; a ceiling to floor curtain with light blocking material hangs in each room and when pulled shut it separates the bed area from the seating area in your stateroom. You also have the ability to turn off the lights over the bed, while keeping the rest of the room lit.
Of course, the world-famous Disney characters are everywhere on the ships, and the young and young at heart in our family enjoyed our visits with each of them! The great-grandparents loved the nightly shows, the beautiful Cove Café - where they enjoyed the view while sipping their morning coffee, and they loved their leisurely strolls along the Promenade on Deck 5.
It was a wonderfully magical multi-generational family vacation; one we are anxious to repeat! So anxious, we rebooked while onboard and took advantage of the great onboard rebooking incentives offered. Disney Dream® here we come! Want to book your multi-generational vacation?
