D23 Expo 2011 Memorable Moments

Disney's second D23 Expo was held in Anaheim last weekend. Earlier this week I gave you my general impressions of the event which I thought had several high points and many low points as well. Today I'll go through 14 moments that I felt were particularly memorable and show videos of each. Obviously, I wasn't able to attend every presentation and see everything on the convention floor, but of the things I did see, these are the ones I thought were the most memorable.
There's no question what my D23 Expo highlight was. From the moment I learned Disney was honoring modern princesses as Disney Legends, I hoped that would mean a live performance by the voices. In 2009 Anika Noni Rose, the voice of Tiana in The Princess and the Frog, was scheduled to sing but was unable to due to illness (correction: she was able to sing despite her illness). This year there was no disappointment as the singing voices of Ariel (Jodi Benson), Belle (Paige OHara), Jasmine/Mulan (Lea Salonga) and Tiana (Anika Noni Rose) gave a live performance I'll never forget. You could hear how much being a Disney princess meant to these ladies in how they sang, and you could hear it in their words as well as they accepted their Disney Legend awards. Especially memorable and moving were the speeches of Anika Noni Rose and Jodi Benson.
