Epcot International Food and Wine Festival
Whips Up New Events Oct. 20-Nov. 18
A Robert Mondavi Family of Wines guided tour and a free Lifestyle Experience on topics of food, wine and entertaining will debut at the sixth annual Epcot International Food and Wine Festival Oct. 20-Nov. 18 at Walt Disney World Resort.
Epcot entertainers including The Houzali Acrobats of Morocco and American Vybe singers are among dozens of acts that will perform daily for guests of this popular culinary celebration.
The food and wine festival around World Showcase Lagoon is one of the largest in the world and features more than 140 wineries, as well as cuisine from more than 30 countries and regions of the world. In addition to the 11 World Showcase countries, more than 20 marketplaces offer culinary samplings from New Zealand, Spain, Scandinavia, Ireland and many other countries, with appetizer-sized tastings from $1 to $4.50.
A new Mondavi guided tour, From Vine to Wine, will take guests through the winemaking process from harvest to bottling. The Lifestyle Experience, geared toward living the good life, is included in Epcot theme park admission and will cover topics that include Olive Oils, Fresh Herbs, Entertaining at Home and Setting the Table for the Holidays. The 15- to 30-minute sessions will occur daily. Epcot guests also will enjoy culinary demonstrations by Disney chefs and celebrity chefs who are back by popular demand.
Other scheduled events include:
- Grand Tastings featuring 12 eminent chefs, more than 30 international wines, and specialty beer every Saturday evening for $65
- Winemaker Dinners hosted by two winemakers with a five-course dinner every Friday and Sunday for $80
- Reserve Dinners featuring older vintages or rare wines and a five-course dinner every Friday and Sunday for $135
- 60-minute Food and Wine Pairings at Coral Reef Restaurant in Future World every Wednesday and Thursday afternoon for $25.
This year, more than 63 wineries will conduct free, 45-minute seminars in locations alongside World Showcase and Future World.
