New Disneykins were introduced in 1961 each box had an insert saying that these figures consisted of 36 different masterpieces. New Disneykins are a whole different story. Many are very rare - some came in cellophane boxes, some with illustrated boxes - and the value was very similar. Characters included Flower and Owl from Bambi, The Three Little Pigs, and Jaq and Gus from Cinderella. Pinocchio figures include Stromboli, Foulfellow, Lampwick and Cleo. Peter Pan figures included two Lost Boys, Wendy, and Mr. Smee.

Some of my favorite Disneykins are the miscellaneous characters - Willie the Whale, Bongo the Bear, Brer Fox and Toby Tortoise. These Disneykins are very scarce! And if you can find them anywhere, they would cost you around $75 - $100 dollars each with or without their original box.

Probably the most expensive of the new Disneykins would be Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty. She is hard to find in good condition as her staff with Raven gets broken off easily. Just as rare is Cruella De Ville from 101 Dalmatians. Both of these figures would be in the $150 to $200 range. Other rare new Disneykins include Lady and the Tramp, Jungle Book and 101 Dalmatians. Figures from Lady and the Tramp and Jungle Book are very rare and desirable as not as many of the new Disneykins were made as the Orginal 34. 101 Dalmatians start at $25 each for the 35 different puppies and as high as $75 - $100 for the main characters.

RCA and Jell-O brand pudding were just two of the special premium sets that were made in the 1960s. The RCA set had a special Ludwig Von Drake figure in it. He was packed with four original Disneykins with and is worth about $150. The Ludwig Von Drake alone is worth $50 loose. There was a Lady and the Tramp kennel box, which included ten different figures, which commands well over $500.

Babes in Toyland Disneykins - for some reason Marx only made the soldiers - are valued at $15 - $25 loose It seems for some reason these figures held up better. The boxes were made more sturdy, but the figures are less desirable, they didn’t do well as none of the main characters were ever produced.

If you happen to have one of the store displays of the 34 original Disneykins it can be worth well over $600 and the New Disneykins can be worth $1000 depending on condition, so you might want to start looking for some at garage sales - it would be well worth your time.

Another interesting fact about Disneykins is that some came unpainted but are worth about 50 percent less than the painted ones.

As you can see there were so many different characters available and many different variations - and at the time being so affordable - I think that’s why Disneykins remained popular for over two and half decades! How can you not love these little figures?
