We entered the park and figured we were in good shape since we were early. Passed the first 2 vending carts that had soda and ice cream. The line wrapped around the corner. Easily 100 people in line. No problem, we will just hit one of the other ones later. We beelined to Primeval Whirl to take a spin. A 70 minute wait. That’s compared to the usual 30 minutes during the day on Stand-by or a lot quicker with a Fastpass. Off to Dinosaur. It has a 10 minute wait. Enjoyable ride that always gets us into a "which is better Indy or Dinosaur?" discussion.

We take in the Streetmosphere characters walking around including Miss Dinoland, a preppy Tour Guide, Chester and Hester and a very cool Dinosaur Skeleton that is a large puppet with a performer inside. There is even a cartoonish Carnatoras walking around.

Lets try Primeval Whirl again. 80 minute wait. Since we can come out here anytime, we decided to bypass Primeval Whirl and take a chance at the free carnival games. That’s right…I said FREE. The winner of each game received a raffle ticket that could then be entered into a drawing for one of eleven prizes offered. Prizes included Animal Kingdom merchandise, free meals, free AP renewals and a 2 night stay at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. That’s eleven prizes for the 6,500 people that were expected. Hey, I am a gambler and I wouldn’t mind an AP renewal so we head back to the games area. Wall to wall people. I am talking you-can't-move-an-inch crowds. Once you found a line you had to wait 20-30 minutes to play once (think of the Whack a Mole Game with 50 people behind each station waiting to play). Ok, maybe I don’t need that AP renewal that badly. Lets head over to the new Passholder Lounge at Pizzafari to meet some other LaughingPlace.com members and get a free drink and maybe some ice cream.
