The Toon Talk Top 10 - As Long As There’s Christmas … :

… Disney will have plots for holiday-themed movies, such as (in addition to Mickey’s Twice Upon A Christmas and its predecessor Mickey’s Once Upon A Christmas) the following selections:

  1. The yuletide classic Silly Symphony Santa’s Workshop (1932) spawned its own sequel a year later, The Night Before Christmas.
  2. Dale disguised as a Santa candle is just one of the many delights in the classic Mickey Mouse short Pluto’s Christmas Tree (1952).
  3. Both the Mouse and the Frog took their turns as Charles Dickens’ Bob Cratchit in, respectively, Mickey’s Christmas Carol (1983) and The Muppet Christmas Carol (1992).
  4. A Christmas angel (played by Harry Dean Stanton!) helps bring the spirit of Christmas back into the life of a miserable Mary Steenburgen in One Magic Christmas (1985).
  5. After going to camp, but before being scared stupid, Ernest Saves Christmas in this 1988 comedy starring Jim Varney.
  6. Jack Skellington and the denizens of Halloweentown try to take over their neighboring holiday in the stop-motion animated cult classic Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993).
  7. Tim Allen starred as a divorced father who takes over for Saint Nick in The Santa Clause (1994) and returned (eight years later) to find a Mrs. Claus in The Santa Clause 2.
  8. Whitney Houston tries to put on the best Christmas pageant ever in The Preacher’s Wife (1996).
  9. Belle helps the Beast to learn, yup, the true meaning of Christmas in the 1997 video premiere Beauty and the Beast: An Enchanted Christmas.
  10. Allen’s Home Improvement co-star Jonathan Taylor Thomas finds nothing but trouble when he vows I’ll Be Home For Christmas, a 1998 comedy.
