"A lot of fuss for a really humble little building," Diane Disney Miller commented, " All barns are humble but they're important. And this was a very important little barn not just to me but to my dad. The things he did here had far reaching implications...The tinkering in here led to Disneyland...I'm so thrilled to have it here. It is a piece of history. I went with my family to Walden's Pond. It's a little cottage of Thoreau which everyone makes such a big deal of and I thought we've got something like this and I can give it to Griffith Park. Thanks to various individuals. I'm thrilled. Michael [Broggie] may have spent more time in this barn. I was 16 and you were about 8 so I had other things to do. My dad had a hobby and that was cool. So thank you all so much...I have my family here my daughter, my son Walt, my grandchildren. They're enjoying it. My sister's children Michelle and Brad. Brad just donated an engine to the Live Steamers. Our heart and our heritage is here in this place. Thank you all."

Ms. Miller's comments were followed by the presentation of the Carolwood sign pictured below.

Los Angeles Live Steamers presented a plaque to Ms. Miller which read:

Presented to The Walt Disney Family Educational Foundation by The Los Angeles Live Steamers We extend to you our most sincere appreciation for relocating the "Disney Barn" to our premises. It will serve as an invaluable aid in support of our commitment to provide to the community an educational experience that will relate to Walt Disney's love for large scale model railroading. In keeping with his legacy, you have made a wish come true. July 18, 1999

She was then accompanied by the various city officials in hammering in the last "golden nail."
