Report: Ryman-Carroll Club 33 Event

On January 26th and 27th an event was held at Disneyland, in part, to raise money for the Ryman-Carroll Foundation which - through the Ryman Program - offers free classes in drawing and painting for talented young artists. The program is named after Herb Ryman, one of Disney's great artists, who passed away in 1989.
The event began with breakfast at Club 33 then the attendees were broken into three groups to hear each of the three legends give a talk and answer questions. The legends on Saturday were: Harriet Burns (Disney Legend & Model Maker), Maggie Elliott (Former Senior Vice President of Creative Administration at Walt Disney Imagineering) and Marty Sklar (Disney Legend and Vice Chairman & Principal Creative Executive at Walt Disney Imagineering). On Sunday there was Blaine Gibson (Disney Legend & Former Chief Sculptor at Walt Disney Imagineering), Bob Gurr (Former Walt Disney Imagineer) and Marty Sklar (Disney Legend and Vice Chairman & Principal Creative Executive at Walt Disney Imagineering).
After the speeches guests were escorted to the Disney Gallery to view the Herb Ryman exhibit (which closed on Sunday) and meet, talk to and take pictures with the legends.
