This electric system remind me less of the full-sized Japan Railway trains and more of BART in the San Francisco Bay Area. Although, due to the number of people it moves, the MTR interiors aren't as comfy.

Lantau, the largest of Hong Kong 234 Outlying Islands, was formerly best know for its 135 Buddhist monasteries and its wandering herds of cattle.
...the especially mountainous and still largely undeveloped - Lantau Island.
