Welcome Onboad

  • Check-in can be laborious; The check-in procedures can be tedious and time-consuming. Arrive with plenty of time to spare, as the security checkpoints are very thorough. The terminal building is a stunning piece of Art Deco-inspired architecture, reminiscent of the cruise terminals in Southampton, England and New York from the Titanic era of sailing and guests really should spend time here.

  • Your Key to the World Card ("KTTW"); DCL operates a cash-free system. At check-in at Port Canaveral, guests can leave an authorised credit or debit card for charging privileges (much like the WDW hotels). It is also used as an identity card for disembarkation. Guests must have their KTTW card when leaving the ship as it is swiped to ensure the DCL has an accurate log of those guests onshore. Therefore, it is essential that guests carry the card at all times. International guests must deposit their passports with the check-in cast and collect them on the morning of disembarkation.

  • Drinks; Drinks are NOT included in the fare, except for soft and hot drinks during breakfast and dinner and at the coffee station on Deck Ten. There are plenty of bars onboard to serve every alcoholic drink under the Caribbean sun. However, the best value is the refillable mug. The initial outlay may make you squirm, as it is $35 each for a one-week cruise, but if you plan on spending time outdoors, it is a must. It is easy to become dehydrated on the exposed decks and you will find yourself imbibing at a steady rate. Those Coco-Colas will soon add up and so the refillable mug (identical to those found at the Walt Disney World resorts) is invaluable. Please note that the resort mugs are not valid onboard (for refills, the mugs must be handed to a bartender and he might just notice that Disney’s All Star logo on the side!). The tab for alcoholic beverages can soon add up as the DCL operates a cash-free payment system (using the Key to the World card as the charging facility), so look out for the daily special including "2 for 1" cocktails.
