Next was Jay Williams from The Walt Disney Studios, he gave us sneak peeks to highlights from the 2003 slate of films. First off was the theatrical re-release of Disney's The Lion King to IMAX and other large format theaters. Jay showed us a video that had the creative team that talked about how they had to reanimate parts of close to eighty scenes so that the film will be beautiful on the larger screen. Next up was Disney's and Pixar's Finding Nemo. We got to be one of the first groups to see the new trailer that gives more insight into the characters and plot of the movie that will be released May 30. The other summer release is based upon the famous theme park attraction, Pirates of the Caribbean. The film stars Johnny Depp, Geoffrey Rush, and Orlando Bloom as pirates that are cursed and whose true form is revealed by moonlight. We were able to see the great teaser trailer for the film and we were also able to see a Movie Surfer segment from The Disney Channel where the surfers interviewed the creative team. That film will be released in July.

Next was Brother Bear from Feature Animation which features songs from Phil Collins. We were the first group to see the trailer where you see a young man transformed into a bear and begin to love his adopted brother. Brother Bear will be released in the Fall. Finally, was a sneak peak to The Haunted Mansion movie based upon Disneyland Park's The Haunted Mansion. We were the first group to see some footage that was approved just two days earlier. Don Hahn, a creative force behind The Lion King and Atlantis: The Lost Empire is producing the film that stars Eddie Murphy. Don introduced us to many of the creative individuals that are working on bringing the Haunted Mansion to life. They are trying to bring all 999 happy haunts to the screen and it was amazing to see the makeup artists bring those ghosts to the big screen. It was great to see a preview of upcoming Disney pictures and Jay was the perfect Cast Member to present the sneak previews to us.

Carlene Thie, discussed her series of Disneyland photography books. She discussed how she discovered that the photos her grandfather took as a freelance photographer during Disneyland's early years would be of interest of Disney fans. She showed some new photographs she discovered including color photos of the Viewliner. Finally she discussed the upcoming collector's edition of her book which will feature thoughts from influential Disney personalities like Sam McKim and Art Linkletter.
