Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

The highlight of the evening is undoubtedly the unique Mickey's Boo-to-You Halloween Parade, presented twice nightly along the parade corridor. The parade features the usual array of Disney  characters, costumed appropriately for the night in sheets (like Chip Œn' Dale as ghosts) or farmers (like Mickey and Minnie) and Disney Villains, including Hades and the Wicked Witch. The parade is very entertaining (particularly the Haunted Mansion section with its all singin' Œn' dancin' Mansion hosts, swinging spades in the air!) and the crowd certainly pack the route for it. However, there is one particular float that did leave a nasty taste in the mouth, in the form of Cruella and a paddy wagon, filled with live dalmatian and their puppies. The dogs looked  agitated and upset by the gaping guests and I did find it highly inappropriate for a Disney parade. I hope never to see such a spectacle in similar circumstances again. On an optimistic point, this was the only low moment and the cast were excellent and participatory. At least this parade is exclusive to the parties and a genuine attraction to the event.

Throughout the park, other special entertainment offerings are presented, including three showings of Cinderella's Surprise Celebration, encore performances of the new Goofy's Country Dancin' Jamboree, costume parades (and a disco) for the kids in Ariel's Grotto and various storytelling spots (cutely split into scary and not-so-scary stories!). Quite simply, there is too much specific tailorings to take them all in, in one evening.  We managed to catch a few, but not in their entirety. Instead, we opted for a few attractions, such as the awesome Mickey's PhilharMagic and the Haunted Mansion (sadly the juicy rumours of additions to the ride for the parties did not materialise).
