In the east side of the backyard: A log
cabin was built here by Walt Disney, and used in the filming of Song of the
South. The log cabin has since been removed. The area is now used for
storytelling.
The podium and benches await the next story
of Brer Rabbit and his.
The bell, once used for dinner-calls, now
signals a story-telling session.

Beyond the fallen log, a field where larger
crowds came to see acted-out plays of Uncle Remus Stories on a stage. Harris'
children once played in this backyard field. This area is
the genuine, original Laughin' Place.
At the Laughin' Place sits the
concrete stage and wrap-around seating area used for Uncle Remus live plays.
