From steam trains, Matt moved on to the Monorail.
An image of the original Tomorrowland attraction being dedicated in 1959 by then Vice-president Richard Nixon was shown. The Mark II Monorail, Matt said, expanded transportation to the Disneyland Hotel.
Matt then announced that new Mark VII Monorails would arrive in 2007.
And, Matt said, the Submarines would be coming back to Tomorrowland.
Finding Nemo: Submarine Voyage would, he promised, combine the best of technology, the best of storytelling, and the best of Disneyland tradition in a new attraction.
And also coming to Disneyland in 2006 was the premiere of the motion picture Pirates of the Caribbean II: Dead Man's Chest.
Timed to coincide with the gala event, the classic Pirates of the Caribbean attraction would be enhanced with new characters drawn from the first feature film. As Matt began to expand on this subject, there was a burst of cannon fire, and smoke filled the stage as pirates rushed in from all sides.
