In addition to a second disc containing the Disney File digital copy of the film, the new Bugs Life Blu-ray also includes two original bonus features. The first is the previously mentioned Filmmakers Roundtable, a 20-minute look back at what they call the hardest and most fun movie they have ever made (they being directors John Lasseter and Andrew Stanton and producers Darla K. Anderson and Kevin Reher). Filled with funny reminiscences connected to the making of the movie (including unlikely visits to Camp David and The Today Show), the Roundtable is supplemented by the second fresh feature, the First Draft of A Bugs Life. This is a semi-animated reading (by Flik himself, Dave Foley) of the early version of the story, wherein the hero of the movie was not Flik, but a red ant named (naturally) Red, who was actually one of the circus bugs.

The rest of the discs supplements are carried over from the original Bugs Life DVD, including two bonus shorts (Pixars Academy Award-winning Geris Game and the Silly Symphony, The Grasshopper and the Ants), both set of hilarious out takes and the hysterical gag preview reel hosted by Flea-bee (which has to be seen to be believed). Rounding out the set are Pixars usual in-depth behind the scenes production footage, including an audio commentary, early animation tests, a nifty sound deconstruction and even promotional interviews with the cast.
