Coral Reef

Up until recently this was a forgotten restaurant to me. When I’d try to enumerate the restaurants of Future World I would invariably forget this one. But a few months ago we were at Epcot looking for a place to have lunch and they had a reservation opening so we decided to try it again. Wow, am I glad we did. The food was much better than I recalled. And the restaurant, despite it’s upscale price and feel, was fun. Why? Because Coral Reef is located inside Epcot’s Seas Pavilion and one of its giant aquariums serves as its focal point. So wherever you’re sitting you’ll have a great view of all kinds of beautiful sea life. And if you’re lucky, they’ll be divers in there on a tour. Go ahead and wave, they can see you. And if you’re really lucky, Mickey Mouse will be taking a dip, too, scuba gear and all (he can see you, too). I had the Mushroom Phyllo Crisp which really blew me away. And we all enjoyed the Bailey’s and Jack Daniel’s Mousse for dessert. It’s not exactly a Whispering Canyon kind of fun, but it was fun nonetheless.
