Five Things I Miss About Disneyland

Billy Hill and the Hillbillies
There was a time when a day at the parks for me was spent doing almost nothing but experiencing the entertainment. Going from the Lion King Celebration to Festival of Fools to Fantasmic! then ragtime piano with Rod Miller would be a perfect day. One of my favorite shows to see over and over was Billy Hill and the Hillbillies. To this day I’ve still never seen a Disney show that seemed to so consistently entertain everyone that went to see it. I’m sure its lack of billing keeps expectations low and that helps, but to look around that crowd as brother Billy gets his bow stuck in his nose is to see a full house completely entertained - not an easy feat. The shows fast pace, varied styles (all with a hillbilly touch) and comedy made it a favorite time and again that I never ever miss when I’m able to get back to the west cost.
