Oriental Land Co., Ltd. announced today that Mr. Yasuhiro Shimomura, a 39-year-old chef at Tokyo Disneyland Park, was awarded the grand prize at the “Le Taittinger 42e Prix Culinaire International Japon.” This was Mr. Shimomura’s second entry in this competition. Having won the grand prize, he will travel to Paris to enter the “Prix Culinaire International Pierre Taittinger” to be held in December as the representative from Japan, and compete for the international title against contestants from seven other countries.

The 12th Annual Hollywood Film Festival and Hollywood Awards, co-chaired by Paul Haggis and presented by Starz, are pleased to announce honorees who will be recognized for their outstanding achievements at the festival's Hollywood Awards Gala Ceremony. Actor James Franco will receive the "Hollywood Breakthrough Actor of the Year Award," actress Sally Hawkins will be honored with the "Hollywood Breakthrough Actress of the Year Award," director John Patrick Shanley will receive the "Hollywood Breakthrough Director of the Year Award," screenwriter Dustin Lance Black will be honored with the "Hollywood Breakthrough Screenwriter of the Year Award," Disney/Pixar's "WALL-E," directed by Academy Award-winning director Andrew Stanton, will get the "Hollywood Animation of the Year Award," and Paramount Pictures' "Iron Man" and visual effects supervisors John Nelson and Ben Snow will receive the "Hollywood Visual Effects of the Year Award."

Disney Helps Establish First Rescue Center for Gorillas in Eastern Africa - (DL) (9/16/2008)
The first center in eastern Africa designed to rescue, rehabilitate and reintroduce orphaned gorillas back into the wild will begin construction later this month in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The center will also include a conservation education and public information program, and will work in partnership with local conservationists and authorities.

Disney Launches Production of its First Movie in Russia - (DL) (9/15/2008)
The Walt Disney Company CIS has joined forces with some of Russia's top filmmaking talents for their first Russian produced feature, "The Book of Masters." The film started shooting in September 2008 outside Minsk. Upon completion of the first stage of shooting, production will then move on to the Mosfilm Studio stages.
