New details for the D23 "Sip & Stroll" event at Epcot - (DL) (9/30/2009)

New details have been revealed for the D23's Sip and Stroll at Epcot® on Sunday, October 18, 2009

Park admission is now included. Each guest will receive TWO one-day, one-park tickets, so they may then return and enjoy another day at Walt Disney World. (Tickets are good through December 30, 2009.)

Epcot Vice President Dan Cockrell and Marianne Hunnel (the woman who leads the team behind the Festival) have been added to the list of presenters.

Guests will receive a $50 gift card which they may use to enjoy the fantastic “food and wine” during lunch.

Each dish at the “Festival for the Senses” will be accompanied by a wine and/or beer pairing. And there will be a live three-piece band performing during the event.

A specialty dessert will be served during the VIP viewing of IllumiNations.

Give a Day of Volunteer Service in 2010, Get a Day of Disney Theme Park Fun – Free - (DL) (9/29/2009)

Disney Parks is launching a program that celebrates the spirit of volunteer service with a simple proposition: “Give a Day, Get a Disney Day.” Disney hopes to inspire families to volunteer in their communities during 2010 through this first of its kind program. One million people who perform volunteer service for a participating organization will receive a free one-day admission ticket to a Walt Disney World Resort or Disneyland Resort theme park.

Walt Disney World Temporarily Suspends Bus Service - (DL) (9/17/2009)

Local news agencies are reporting a suspicious device has been located on an out of service Walt Disney World bus leading to a temporary suspension of bus service throughout the resort. Park hours at Disney's Animal Kingdom have been extended due to the lack of bus service. Local news 13 during its 6:30p report said it is expected that service will not restart for around 90 more minutes as the over 200 buses in the WDW fleet are inspected. Disney today unveiled a first glimpse of how it will influence fashion trends in 2010 with the announcement of a spectacular fashion-driven lifestyle program inspired by its upcoming feature Alice In Wonderland. As part of this phenomenal line, Disney Consumer Products (DCP) announced renowned jewelry designer and Council of Fashion Designers of America winner, Tom Binns, as the first in a cadre of top designers and brands soon to be revealed.

DCP and LEGO Models of Woody and Buzz Lightyear from at the 66th Venice Film Festival - (DL) (9/8/2009)

LEGO models of Woody and Buzz Lightyear were unveiled by Disney Consumer Products as part of a dedicated Toy Story-themed family area at the 66^th Venice Film Festival. Constructed from 13,600 LEGO bricks in 150 hours, this was the global unveiling of the Woody model. The Buzz Lightyear model, seen for the first time in Europe, was constructed from 40,000 LEGO bricks in 250 hours by 3 Master Builders.

At the Festival, John Lasseter, chief creative officer of Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios, as well as Brad Bird, Pete Docter, Andrew Stanton and Lee Unkrich of Pixar Animation Studios were awarded the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement.
