Because I just couldn't believe that they would actually take away the Skyway. I always thought it was a wonderful way to move from Tomorrowland to Fantasyland or vice-versa, and going through the Matterhorn was always a great thrill. It might have been a simple attraction, but it was one thing that made Disneyland unique, I always felt. I do miss some of the others, like the Submarine Voyage (I always felt it needed a real good upgrade, though), the PeopleMover (another "fun just to ride around on it" attraction), Captain EO, America Sings, and Adventure through Inner Space....I grew up with these. I always wanted to share them or return to them, even if they were kinda cheesy. What's a mouse without cheese? Actually, there are other things I miss the most about Disneyland....a greater sense of innocence about the place, cheaper food, ticket books (and the prices that went with them), and the possibility of doing both all the major attractions and many minor attractions within normal summer or holiday operating hours. I also miss the Tahitian Terrace....sometimes I wonder, what the heck is wrong with whoever makes these decisions to get rid of these long-standing attractions and other features of the Park? Sure, some things need to be refurbished and even eliminated after a certain amount of time, but other things are timeless and just need to be played up more or enhanced, not eliminated.

Oh, another thing I'll always miss: the old parking lot!

Reader answered Submarine Voyage
I enjoyed the submarine voyage at disneyworld the first year it opened and missed it after it closed. I wanted to show my children the voyage because my son would have loved it.
-- beccab (7/14/2000)

Reader answered Skyway
This was a difficult decision...being able to get the view from above, and getting across the park made this great (it made me overcome my fear of heights)..I also loved America Sings, and I remember Carousel of Progress from my first trip. It would have been easier to decide what I don't miss the most!

Reader answered Adventure Thru Inner Space
The only thing I remember when I went to Grad Nite in 1986 was realizing that ATIS was gone. I was devastated! I really loved that ride when I was a kid. As for the other rides, I regret not taking a last trip on the PeopleMover, Skyway, and Submarines. Though I didn't know that the first two were closing, I did know about the subs and was at DL a few days before it was to close. I didn't ride it, thinking it'll be back. Oh, how wrong I was.................Lia :)

Reader answered America Sings
Growing up in Anaheim at the time of the Bicenntenial celebration. I really loved watching and singing along with the characters. Who couldn't love that weasel popping up all over. I wish I had a video tape of it.
-- disneyland buff (7/12/2000)

Reader answered Skyway
Probably the SKYWAY because it gave you a nice way to look at park.
I used to always start my trips by riding on one, looking out over
the park, and planning the day!
-- PLUT0-STAR (7/12/2000)

Reader answered Mine Trains
This was a real Disney Classic attraction. My second choice would have been Adventure through Inner Space....
-- sjdimon (7/12/2000)

Reader answered PeopleMover
For me, that's the best way to enjoy Tomorrowland. There's no where to relax there anymore.

Reader answered Adventure Thru Inner Space
I never got to go on this attraction, but my husband did and he really misses it. He has explained it to me and it sounds like it was a lot of fun, as well as educational.

I GREW UP IN SAN DIEGO
WAS ONE OF MY FAVORITE RIDES
ALWAYS LIKED THE WAY THE CARS WENT
IN AND THEN YOU SAW LITTLE PEOPLE
COMING OUT
-- monodug (7/11/2000)

Reader answered Submarine Voyage
The submarines were always a fantastic thing to me. When I was a child, I could not understand how we could be so far under the water, right in Disneyland!
-- studiovx (7/11/2000)

Reader answered Captain EO
i loved it! my mom says this must have been where i aquired my taste for loud music. i really wish it werent gone, but i do like HISTA. i mean, its good and all, but it will never be the same...

Reader answered Skyway
The Skyway was so nice and relaxing, and the most beautiful sight was to ride it at night above the Main Street Electrical Parade!

I miss the Swiss Family Treehouse. Even though I like the new Tarzan's Treehouse, I liked the Swiss Family Treehouse better.
-- Alice13 (7/10/2000)

Reader answered Captain EO
What a great show especially love Angelica Houston as the queen also a great place to relax and enjoy the air conditioning on those hot summer days TTFN
-- Danieltink (7/10/2000)

Reader answered Skyway
The Skyway was hardly an exciting ride, yet that is partially what made it so charming. I remember one ride on it particularly well with my mother, just riding above everyone walking through Fantasyland; it was so peaceful.
-- tweedle jason (7/10/2000)

Reader answered Carousel of Progress
I love C.O.P. It has been my family's favorite attraction for years. It was what we always looked forward to and talked about on the plane ride down. When I wekt last summer with my boyfriend, I drove him crazy trying to catch the ride at the time it was open (STUPID to have certain times it is open and closed). THat show is an icon and tribute to Walt himself. Getting rid of it is like pretending that Walt didn't matter in the first place.
-- tsaleeby (7/10/2000)

Reader answered America Sings
I've missed America Sings forever now it seems. I haven't been to Disneyland in a few years, but I hear Mr. Toad is going or gone too. I will really miss that one as well. But AS was just so fun!
-- Tigger96 (7/9/2000)

Reader answered PeopleMover
People Mover was so relaxing! Short lines and a long ride off your tired feet!
-- LuLu (7/9/2000)

Reader answered America Sings
Even though most of the animatronics were moved to Splash Mountain, I still miss the whole concept of "America Sings."
-- NightBoy (7/9/2000)

Reader answered Mine Trains
This ties with Inner Space as my favorite most-missed attraction. I chose Mine Trains because of the Rainbow Caverns. I can't think of a more beautiful and awe-inspiring site at Disneyland. Plus, the "falling rocks" were a real hoot.
-- peanutj (7/9/2000)

Reader answered America Sings
When I found out I could get the tracks on the DL forever, I was so excited. I love the AA shows, esp. this one. "Pop goes the weasel!" Second would be the PeopleMover, 3rd Inner Space.
-- hopemax (7/9/2000)

Reader answered PeopleMover
I love the Rocket Rods...they are my favorite attraction in the park...but this was a wonderful, relaxing ride when it was around.
-- rrdl2k (7/9/2000)

Reader answered PeopleMover
The Peoplemover was great. Usually no line. Relaxing. Informational. Rode through a bunch of cool Tomorrowland rides. Where can you go wrong?
-- Brer Rabbit (7/9/2000)

Reader answered Adventure Thru Inner Space
I still love that giant eyball at the end!
-- Jisdu (7/9/2000)

Reader answered PeopleMover
I have always loved that system, it is one of the few things that really makes you feel futuristic, like you are there in the future traveling through this funny places, on this "magic" rails in an unusual car. I have always thought, the Peoplemover is the spirit of Tomorrowland.
-- dq (7/9/2000)

Reader answered PeopleMover
it was a slow, serene, relaxing way to see Tomorrowland.
-- chupacabra (7/9/2000)

Reader answered Carousel of Progress
It was a nice show to sit and watch after standing in long lines all day.
-- sakura (7/9/2000)

Reader answered Skyway
loved riding with my children Tricia and Brad over Fantasyland.
-- tapdancemom (7/8/2000)

Reader answered PeopleMover
I loved the peoplemover. My kids and I spent many years riding it when we were so tired we could not go anymore. It was a great place to take a break and see Disneyland (or part of it) from up above!!!
-- muffwd (7/8/2000)

Reader answered Submarine Voyage
The Sub Voyage was a classic, I hope it makes a return in an updated form.
-- dlport (7/8/2000)

great ariel view of disneyland. Didnt have to walk all the way from fantasyland to tomorrowland. Relaxing and memorable It drives me nuts everytime I see the old fantasyland loading station just sitting there doing nothing.

Reader answered Adventure Thru Inner Space
I loved this ride as a kid, especially seeing the little ride vehicles entering the microscope.
-- ToonKirby (7/8/2000)

Reader answered PeopleMover
I THINK THEY SHOULD HAVE UPDATED THE PEOPLE MOVER TO TRANSPORT PEOPLE TO THE DIFFERENT LANDS.I REALLY MISS IT!
-- CHIEB2812 (7/8/2000)

Reader answered PeopleMover
The PeopleMover was a tradition for my brother and I at DL - we went on it all the time. It was such a relaxing and great ride!
-- valerie (7/8/2000)

Reader answered America Sings
There was nothing more appealing than boarding a revolving carousel theater (where else in the world would you find one) and be treated to a sweet, charming, & "cuddly" show with 114 audio animatronic animals singing and dancing to 200 years of memorable American songs. Hopefully the proposed Disney's America Amusement Park will be built and be host to the resurrection of this very special and unique show.
-- Futurist (7/8/2000)

Reader answered America Sings
Even though my memories of America Sings itself are slight, I do remember enjoying it very much. I got quite a kick out of the singing animals. (Perhaps this explains why Splash Mountain is my favorite ride??)
-- Kerrie (7/8/2000)

i love the people mover.. and i remamber when i was little my cousins and i used to always want to go on the escalators just to get the foot masage along the side!
-- CheshireCat (7/8/2000)

Reader answered Submarine Voyage
I loved the Submarine Voyage and went on it at least 2 times when I went to DL. I only wish it was there for my 3 year old to enjoy as well.
-- lspangler (7/8/2000)

Reader answered Skyway
It was both entertaining and practicle. now you have to either walk or wait for the steam train. It was also a great way to preview other attractions and/or decide what to do next. The Peoplemover is a close second
-- dcadon (7/8/2000)

Reader answered PeopleMover
Believe it or not, it's the PeopleMover. Not only was it a relaxing 15 minutes around the park, it was a hope for transportation in the future. I felt that when it disappeared so did a little bit of hope for the future.
-- Indigo (7/8/2000)

Reader answered America Sings
America Sings sure brings back good memories. Captain EO and People Mover are a close second. And why did they ever take down skyway?
-- imbartalk (7/8/2000)

Reader answered Adventure Thru Inner Space
When I was a child I thought I was really shrinking into a molecule. I made such a big fit that they had to stop the ride so my parents could take me, all hysterical and crazed, through an emergency exit. I wish I could go on the ride as an adult and see why I made such a fuss.
-- robelle (7/8/2000)

"Festival of Fools," the most exuberant, wel-crafted, and exciting performance ever in a Disney park!
