Today Disney•Pixar Cars fans teamed up with NASCAR driver Casey Mears to wave the green flag and kick off the Cars “Take Flight” experience during Chase weekend at Chicagoland Speedway, Sept. 14-16. In celebration of the world television premieres of the Cars Toons short films “Air Mater” and “Moon Mater” this fall on Disney Channel, and the launch of a new Cars “Take Flight” product collection, Disney has created a fun and immersive family experience for race fans to enjoy the world of Cars.

Disney-Pixar Presents Magazine Coming May from Marvel & Disney Publishing
Disney-Pixar Presents, a new monthly magazine featuring characters from the popular Pixar films will hit newsstands in May. The 96 full color pages will offer a mix of brand new stories, classic adventures, puzzles, games and more.
“We’re excited for the launch of Disney-Pixar Presents, teaming with our friends at Disney/Pixar to bring some exciting new material to fans all over the world and introducing a whole new generation to comics,” said Axel Alonso, Marvel Editor-in-Chief. “We’re committed to providing a great product and ensuring these books are available in locations that parents and kids frequent."
In Disney-Pixar Presents: Cars Magazine #1 -- Lightning McQueen organizes a charity race for young cars with special needs, but he didn’t invite Piston Cup champion Chick Hicks. The snub gets Hick’s competitive juices flowing, and he’s out to show McQueen a thing or two about racing! Will Hicks ruin the good nature of the Radiator Springs Rally Race?

Pixar Characters Will Appear on Special Postage Stamp Series in Summer 2011
The US Postal Service announced "Send A Hello" a series of stamps featuring Pixar characters will be sold beginning August 19th. In recent years the USPS has offered various "Art of Disney" collections. These efforts were so successful the Postal Service was eager to work with the Walt Disney Company again, and chose to to explore the Disney*Pixar films with their contemporary characters and strong themes involving family and friends.
The "Send a Hello" pane of 20 stamps includes five different designs featuring Pixar characters: Lightning McQueen and Mater from Cars (2006); Remy the rat and Linguini from Ratatouille (2007); Buzz Lightyear and two of the green, three-eyed aliens from Toy Story (1995); Carl Fredricksen and Dug from Up (2009); and the robot WALL*E from WALL*E (2008)

THR: Appeals Court Rules Pixar Didn't Steal Lightning McQueen for 'Cars'
According to The Hollywood Reporter an Oklahoma court ruled Pixar's Lightning McQueen was not similar enough to Mark Brill and his race car to be a violation of its publicity rights.

Disney-Pixar Films Made Available On Demand For A Limited Time
Now through November 8, you can view "The Disney-Pixar Collection" including Toy Story, A Bug's Life, Toy Story 2, Monsters, Inc., Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Cars, Ratatouille and Wall-E on demand via your television provider or favorite digital retailer. These films along with Disney-Pixar's UP (which is not currently available on demand), will continue to be offered for download to own. Disney-Pixar also announces Toy Story 3 will be available for digital download beginning November 2.

Cars Toon short Heavy Metal Mater Premieres Tonight on the Disney Channel
Tonight the new Disney-Pixar "Cars Toon" short "Heavy Metal Mater" will premiere at 9:30 p ET/PT. The animated short is directed by Academy Award-winner John Lasseter with Rob Gibbs co-directing and composed by Mark Mothersbaugh ("Devo").
In the episode entitled "Heavy Metal Mater," Mater is a rock star in a heavy metal band. He starts out in a garage band and rises to the top with his hit song, "Dad Gum." Lightning McQueen joins him on stage in the middle of a huge concert and they rock into history.
The short will debut on the Disney Channel on October 8 at 9:30 P ET/PT and will re-air on Disney XD Friday, October 15 at 7:27 P ET/PT.
