2009 Shareholder Meeting Update #31 - Wrap Up
Pepper: This wraps it up. He's been to a number of these meetings and can't recall a better set of questions. Thanks for participation. Keep going to movies and parks. If we didn't get to anyone, come forward and he and Iger will remain to try to address it.

2009 Shareholder Meeting Update #30 - Q & A
Q: A financial planner Said he has all his clients own 100 shares of Disney stock to remind them to have fun. Also told story of a lady years ago who was advised to sell Disney and get something with a higher dividend. She declined saying take a look at what they produce and it's for a market that will never go away - kids.
A: Pepper - Thank you.
Q: Virtual Magic Kingdom (VMK) - any thoughts on bringing it back
A: Iger - "I've gotten thousands of email on this". Made a decision last year that it wasn't large enough to continue. Other online worlds would be more viable and more enjoyable an have been launching new products ever since. No plans to bring it back. But it must have touched an interesting nerve because no deicison has garnered as much attention - for him at leat in his inbox - as that one.
Q: Social responsibility - Encourage Disney to have a factory in China so they can control conditions. Other comments about quality of WDW backstage and their returning an item.
A: Thank you.
Q: Not much attention made to seniors. All those children are going to be seniors. Any thoughts on promoting and encourage seniors?
A: Iger - Seniors are an important part of our customer base, particularly those with grand children. Tried to serve them including making it easier for multi-generational trips. The film Up is also an interesting an example as it tells a story of young people better respecting and appreciating seniors. Any specific we could be doing, feel free to make that suggestion.

Q: Any thoughts of making Marceline a historical landmark?
A: Iger - No but have thought of looking at other places like Walt's birth home in Chicago. But through D23 will try to make available a lot of great Walt Disney memorabilia that has been corrected over the years.

A: Iger - Cars number 2 is coming out in 2011. Don't know if Mac is going to be in it?

2009 Shareholder Meeting Update #27 - Q & A
Q: Thanks for iTunes access to Disney films. What's outlook for agreement with Screen Actors Guild?
A: Iger - I'm one of many. Some progress has been made but not there yet. Trying to avoid a work stoppage which could do lots of damage right now.

2009 Shareholder Meeting Update #26 - Q & A
Q: Disney consider buying up some TV stations to compete with other local stations
A: We remain the #1 station in most markets where they operate local stations. Looking at developing D2 as a digital channel. Looked at possibilities at Hispanic market but prices couldn't be justified.

2009 Shareholder Meeting Update #25 - Q & A
Q: From a child, 2 questions. 1) Why did Walt Disney create Disney
A: Iger - A number of us have studied Walt Disney to learn all things he did that enabled the company to become what it is today. It started with good pictures, good stories and a little big of magic. We try every day to keep that in mind in all the businesses.
Q: 2) Can Board of Directors sign these books?
A: Pepper - yes, we can do that.
From mom - to prove to teahers he was actually here for approved Business Education field trip

2009 Shareholder Meeting Update #24 - Q & A
Q: Management thoughts on continuing to generate revenue in an era where media is distributed in ways (Internet) that are harder to monetize
A: Iger - Computer has become a valuable media device. And the ability to monetize that is not as great as it is on broadcast TV, cable, movies and DVDs. Subscriptions, Pay per view and micro payments are potential ways to monetize other than advertising. Also, Internet presence doesn't have to deliver direct profit, eg. Disney.com. It's a marketing tool as well. A significant amount of time is spent on this challenge.

2009 Shareholder Meeting Update #23 - Q & A
Q: 1) Any consideration for announcing meeting location before end of calendar year to people can submit plans
A: Iger - Typically don't announce before mailing proxy but no reason they have to. Haven't decided, but thinking the South of France or Hawaii. So will try to announe sooner.
Q: 2) Would Disney be interested in purchasing Sea World parks if they become available for purchase. And any result from WDW executive separate plans.
A: Iger - Don't typically comment about potential acquisitions but that doesn't suggest we're looking to acquire. To separation question - roughly 50 people opted to take voluntary separation plan in Florida.

2009 Shareholder Meeting Update #22 - Q & A
Q: After speaking on Eisner who stayed 10 years longer than he shoudl, "Iger, you're a breath of fresh air and worth every penny". On theme park expansion - why a theme park in a non-democratic country?
A: Politics of a country are not usually taken into considertion in building a park other than political instability. Believe China is a good market and has a lot of potential.

2009 Shareholder Meeting Update #21 - Q & A
Q: 1) Is Disney willing to commit to running anti-tobacco spots on the Internet and before its movies in theaters. 2) Commit to no longer show tobacco brands in any films whether paid for or not.
A: Iger - We don't have control over material that runs in theaters other than the movies and trailers. So #1 is not within their control. To second question, they discourage to the extent possible, directors and producers from including smoking but there are times when it's done.

Q: Many people would love to give Disney stock to those they love. Urge Disney to put together a program making it easy for individuals to purchase stock in a small amount.

2009 Shareholder Meeting Update #18 - Q & A
Q: What is future of 2D and 3D animation?
A: Iger - Future is bright for both. Appeal of a film is in characters and storytelling, not the technology so there is room for both.

2009 Shareholder Meeting Update #17 - Q & A
Q: Member of a non-profit advocating responsible entertainment. Despite many positive developments, three concerns. 1) Asks Disney company to reconsider acceptance and placement of commercials all over their schedule. 2) Marketing of Disney stars for adult oriented programming, eg. Jonas Brothers hosting 90210 episode. 3) ABC Family honor it's name as it airs many adult-oriented shows.
A: Iger - We have policies we believe are responsible but aren't necessarily consistant with everyone's beliefs. They don't run ads for R-Rated movies before 9p at night other than sports. We've drawn a responsible line and try to balance that responsibility. Regarding ABC Family, generally depict real-life family situations. Careful to point out to the potential audience the content of the programs.

2009 Shareholder Meeting Update #16 - Q & A
Q: Person who asked last year about possibility of international Annual Passes. Was told it would be discussed. Wants to know how that discussion turned out.
A: Iger - We do listen as was evidenced in the D23 presentation which was a direct result of a meeting question. Discussion on AP resulted in it would not be feasable to create an international Annual Pass. Interest limited and administration very difficult.

2009 Shareholder Meeting Update #14 - Q & A
Q: Noted Steve Jobs was not there and wished him good health. Does board have a contingency in place if he can't perform his duty? Is there a contingency plan if his shares go on the open market? Also, regarding first question, probably was regarding BCS, not March Madness.
A: Pepper - Not thought at all about Steve not being on the board. Only thoughts are for his rapid and full recovery.
Q: Mentions Frank Wells untimely death and confusion that took place after that. Company should have a plan.
A: Thank you.
