Epic Mickey 2 Will be a Musical and the Characters Will Talk

Epic Mickey designer Warren Spector told the Washington Post he realized he made a big mistake with the original Epic Mickey - he didn't have the characters talk. He says not only will that be rectified in the sequel, but the new game will actually be a musical.

Disney Publishing Worldwide Launches Disney Epic Mickey Digicomics App for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch

Disney Publishing Worldwide announced today its Disney Epic Mickey App for viewing Disney Digicomics is now available for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch on the App store. The first Disney Digicomic available in the app is “Tales of Wasteland”, which comprise 6 eight-page short comic stories that take place in Wasteland, an alternate world made up of Disney’s forgotten creative efforts. Users get a preview of Wasteland and feature characters from the upcoming Disney Epic Mickey video game, including Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, Walt Disney’s first cartoon star.

Sneak Peek Disney Epic Mickey for Wii and the Upcoming Graphic Novel at San Diego Comic-Con, July 24

Disney Epic Mickey will be presented in a panel discussion taking place on Saturday, July 24th at 4:30 p.m. at the San Diego Convention Center, Room 9. Game designer Warren Spector of Disney Interactive Studios' Junction Point and Peter David, award-winning comic writer and author of the upcoming Disney Epic Mickey "Tales of the Wasteland" themed comics, will share their insights on bringing the world of Wasteland to life in the upcoming Wii video game, Disney DigiComics and graphic novel. The panel will include discussion, gameplay footage, artwork and a sneak-peak at the comics.

Performance Designed Products (PDP) Creates Collectible Controllers for Disney Epic Mickey and Tron: Evolution, the Video Game

Performance Designed Products announced today that it has collaborated with Disney Consumer Products (DCP) to create unique game controllers for Disney Epic Mickey and TRON: Evolution, two amazing video games coming from Disney Interactive Studios. The Disney Epic Mickey Wii secondary controller is designed to resemble the magical paintbrush that Mickey wields in the game world, complete with wood-grained texture and soft, safe foam tip. They have also announced a collectible Disney Epic Mickey Wii remote charging system. The TRON controllers will feature unique, performance-enhancing contours and design, rubber grips with a soft-touch finish and perforated details and light-up accents reminiscent of the TRON universe to illuminate late-night gaming sessions.

Highlights from Epic Mickey presentation at E3

During the Nintendo presentation at E3 Warren Spector General Manager, Creative Director Junction Point discussed the unique game play style of Epic Mickey while showing various game elements. Set in "Wasteland" the game is familiar yet strange offering a different look to many familiar Disney theme park attractions, movies and characters. The quest zone featured offered a look at Smee and the Swiss Family Treehouse. Throughout game play Mickey is given the power to wield paint and paint thinner to dynamically change the world and determine Mickey's path to becoming an epic hero. But in Epic Mickey ""Playstyle matters. How you change your world, how you interact with characters that changes how the world looks, of course, but it changes how characters treat you, what they tell you; what they don't tell and how each characters story ends."
