Disney Nearing Deal for Film Based on Walt's 14-Year Effort to Secure Rights to Mary Poppins

In one of the more interesting stories I've read in a while, Deadline.com reports Disney has acquired a script called "Saving Mr. Banks" about the very long process of convincing Mary Poppins author P.L. Travers to sell the rights to make a movie based on Mary Poppins to Disney. Actors being considered are Tom Hanks for Walt Disney and Meryl Streep as P.L. Travers. I can't wait ot see this one!

Pictures: First Look at Concepts from Disney's Wreck-It Ralph

Disney has released the first concept images from the upcoming Walt Disney Animation Studios film Wreck-It Ralph due to be released in 2013.

The film takes place in the world of arcade video games and features "Hero's Duty," a sci-fi, first-person shooter in which a platoon of soldiers must battle mutant Cy-Bugs that threaten the safety of the universe.	Video game "bad guy" Ralph (voice of John C. Reilly) spends his lonely evenings gazing at the apartment building that it's his job to destroy.	The film takes place in the world of arcade video games and features the brightly colored, deceptively sweet game of "Sugar Rush," in which competitors race candy go-karts around a world make entirely of edible sweets.

Pictures: Bolt Makes an Appearance at Epcot Today

I was at Epcot this morning and was very surprised to see this guy walking around. I've never thought of him as one of the more popular characters and don't think I've seen him doing meet and greets or in any parade or show since shortly after his movie was in theaters or coming on DVD. But there he was. Is this common?

Disney Signs Multi-Year Package Deal With Germany's RTL

The Hollywood Reporter writes Disney has signed a multi-year package deal with leading German broadcaster RTL Deutschland that will give RTL free TV rights to Disney, Pixar, Marvel Studios and DreamWorks titles from 2012 on. The Avengers and Brave are among the films included in the agreement.
