Ousted DVC Chief Jim Lewis Given Consulting Gig and Recommendation Letter From Disney
The Orlando Sentinel reports Jim Lewis, the ousted head of the Disney Vacation Club after making serious financial planning errors on Aulani, has been given a letter of recommendation from Tom Staggs and is available to Disney as a consultant. Some feel both are an indication of a settlement agreement between Disney and Lewis.

Disney Vacation Club Member Cruise Date Change
Just received from DVC publicity...
Disney Vacation Club plans to shift the four-night S.S. Member Cruise 2012 from the originally announced Oct. 21 sailing date to Sept. 16, as well as allow more Members than ever to experience this signature event by adding a three-night S.S. Member Cruise that will sail on Jan. 10, 2013. As with this year’s S.S. Member Cruise, the voyages will sail on the Disney Dream ship out of Port Canaveral, Fla., and will continue to feature scheduled stops at Disney’s private-island, Castaway Cay.
This move allows Members to choose the date and length that best suits their family’s needs, while giving Disney Vacation Club the opportunity to bring this experience to more Members than ever before. As you know, these voyages give our Members a chance to enjoy in-room gifts, exclusive entertainment and so much more. Booking for the two voyages is scheduled to begin on Dec. 11.

Aulani DVC Sales Resume With a 33% Fee Increase
The Orlando Sentinel writes Disney has once again begun selling Disney Vacation Club timeshares to their Aulani resort in Hawaii after receiving permission to increase fees 33%. The head of the DVC and two others were fired recently amid reports that the original fees being charged did not cover the maintenance on the resort. Sales have resumed in Hawaii and Disney is in the process of getting approval for resuming sales in other states.

Jim Lewis Out at Disney Vacation Club. Major Aulani Issues?
Jim Lewis is no longer the president of the Disney Vacation Club according to the Orlando Sentinel and several other reports. Rumors are circulating around the Internet that the move was related to issues with the Aulani resort and that, in fact, sales of Disney's new Hawaiian resort have been halted in at least some areas. Disney to Close Grand Floridian Spa for 18 Months
The Orlando Sentinel writes about the 18-month closure for the spa at Disney's most expensive hotel, the Grand Floridian, starting September 19th for "a planned renovation". Though Disney is mum the speculation is Disney is in the process of creating a Disney Vacation Club resort at the Grand Floridian.

Disney Vacation Club Unveils New Logo
The Official Disney Parks Blog reveals the new look for the Disney Vacation Club. Gone is the logo that has been around since the Club's inception in 1991...
The new logo is meant to show the Club is about more than mountains and beaches and now includes more than 500 vacation options around the world.
Along with the new logo, we've noticed the "Have you heard the Best Kept Disney Secret" tagline is no longer anywhere to be found at Walt Disney World or the area billboards.

Owner's Locker and Disney Vacation Club Strike a Deal
According to SILive.com, Owner's Locker, a company that facilitates storing your stuff near Disney World and deliverying/picking it up from your hotel room rather than having to transport it back and forth, has entered into an official arrangement with the Disney Vacation Club that allows DVC members to receive a 20% discount on the membership fee.

Coming to Aulani – Mo‘olelo Beachside Fire Pit Storytelling
Disney conitnue to release more information via the Official Disney Parks Blog about their Aulani resort currently under construction in Hawaii...
With the Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa fire pit storytelling location still under construction, how appropriate is it that Aulani Entertainment Executive Producer Sayre Wiseman has to convey the experience through … well … storytelling?
Around The Circle of ‘Alae ‘Ula (named for the water bird that, in Hawaiian mythology, brought fire to humans) Uncle, Aulani Resort’s Hawaiian Elder, will share stories and songs drawn from traditional Hawaiian culture. Mo‘olelo, as the experience is called, is a Hawaiian word for the storytelling tradition, and Aulani guests will be encouraged to sing along as Uncle strums on his ukulele and teaches Hawaiian lyrics to songs that support his stories.
The stories will range from tales of romance and adventure to the rascally antics of the legendary little Menehune.
Sayre and the Aulani Entertainment team are developing a diverse program of activities specially tailored for various guest age groups – adults, teens and youth – as well as experiences like Mo‘olelo storytelling designed for the entire family. We’ll tell you more about these in upcoming posts

Aulani Update from the Vice President of Disney Vacation Club
From the Official Disney Parks Blog...
On a recent walk through the construction site at Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa, Djuan Rivers, Vice President of Disney Vacation Club and Resort, Hawaii, talked about Pu‘u Kino, the lava outcropping which is probably the most imposing and eye-catching landmark in the Waikolohe Valley recreation and activity area of the Resort. Pu‘u Kino will offer two different adventures down thrilling water slides. One slide will plunge tube-riding guests into a water course through misty caverns. The other is a body slide that will drop them directly into the crystalline waters of the 8,200-square-foot Waikolohe Pool.
Along the way, you may spot “hidden faces in the lava” (which is what Pu‘u Kino means in Hawaiian). Djuan and our videographer have done a good job calling attention to some of those “hidden faces.” Can you spot them all? As you can imagine, there are many others you’ll be able to find on your own when you visit.
