To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the legendary Star Tours ride (opened in 1987 at Disneyland), discover "Star Tours Origins (ST-45 Project)", a non-official tribute to the "Ultimate Star Wars Adventure".
This video is a home-made CGI recreation of the original "Endor Express" movie, featured in Star Tours 1, and for the first time in Stereoscopic 3D !

New Star Wars Show at Disney's Hollywood Studios
StudiosCentral.com writes about a new medal ceremony show with Princess Leia taking place on the Jedi Training Academy stage. According to them the show is currently in testing and certain days through August 1st.

Video: Star Tours: The Adventures Continue Sneak Peek Event at the Florida Mall

As we await the gala launch of “Star Tours – The Adventures Continue” at Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort, we asked C-3PO, R2-D2 and some of their closest pals to join us for some sneak peek events.
The Florida Mall in Orlando was the site of one of these early looks at the galactic fun, with Princess Leia Minnie and Jedi Mickey joining many Star Wars and Disney Parks fans for the festivities. Ashley Eckstein, the voice of Ahsoka Tano in Star Wars: The Clone Wars and creator of the “Her Universe” line ofStar Wars-themed fangirl fashion, wielded our custom-built “mic-saber” and joined us to report on the event. No stranger to Disney’s Hollywood Studios (she is a former Cast Member), Ashley will return as one of the Celebrity Hosts of Star Wars Weekends 2011. Star Wars Weekends 2011 kicks off May 20, the same day “Star Tours – The Adventures Continue” officially opens at Walt Disney World Resort.

Reservations Open at 1P for D23 WDW Star Tours Final Flight
After Disney's Hollywood Studios closes for the day September 7 D23 members will experience a special "final flight" to the Moon of Endor before Star Tours suspends departures as it readies for its 2011 reimagining. In an effort to ensure that it is the last ride, only 225 tickets will be made available. Available only to D23 Members in good standing. Members may reserve a ticket for themselves and one (1) guest. This will be the final ride on Star Tours offered to the general public at Walt Disney World. Reservations for this special experience open Thursday, August 26 at 1 PM ET.

Composer Michael Giacchino to Score Star Tours II: The Adventures Continue?
We have heard that once again John Williams has declined the opportunity to score Star Tours II: The Adventures Continue (Williams was not involved in the original Star Tours or any of the Indiana Jones attractions). Instead Michael Giacchino has been tapped to score the new attraction as he is a fan of the attraction. The signature Star Tours theme will be kept.

IGN: Learn details about the new incarnation of Star Tours
Highlights from the presentation by Walt Disney Imagineering's Jason Surrell. While "it's too early to say" was a common response to inquiries about the upcoming Star Tours attraction, Surrell did indicate the ride's timeframe would be place in-between Revenge of the Sith and the original Star Wars, a.k.a. The legendary filmmaker attended "The Last Tour to Endor," a special event at the theme park in honor of the "Star Wars"-themed thrill attraction, Star Tours.

Star Wars Celebration V convention is coming to Orlando Aug. 12-15 and expects to draw about 25,000 fans. StarWars.com announces author, screenwriter and Walt Disney Imagineer Jason Surrell will take the Behind-The-Scenes Stage with Pablo Hidalgo on Thursday, from 3p - 4p for a look at the creation of Star Tours and Indiana Jones through rare concept art and stunning still photographs. He will also offer an exclusive sneak peek at the new, "reimagineered" Star Tours, set to launch in Spring 2011, and Last Tour to Endor event coming Saturday, August 14.
Disney Parks blog announces the Star Wars Celebration Disney Parks Discussion Panel is scheduled for Friday, August 13th, from 12-1, at the Behind-The-Scenes Stage with Pablo Hidalgo. The panel will focus on Disney Parks' Star Wars merchandise with a sneak peek at upcoming items.

From the What's Next presentation currently in progress at the Disneyland Resort...
- The new Star Tours tagline will be "The Adventures Continue"
- The timeline will be sometime between Episodes 3 and 4
- There are multiple destinations including the city of Coruscant and the pod race on Tatooine
- The last day to ride Star Tours at the Disneyland Resort is July 26th.
- The last day to ride Star Tours at Walt Disney World is July September 8th

Disney’s Hollywood Studios Hosting Special ‘Last Tour To Endor’ Party Aug 14
The Official Disney Parks blog has announced an August 14th "Last Tour to Endor" event. The after hours (8p - 1a) event will be held at Disney's Hollywood Studios as a part of the Star Wars Celebration V. Events include a "Death Star Disco", a Star Wars-themed fireworks show and the chance to be one of the last to ride Star Tours before it goes down for its transformation to Star Tours 2. While the event is a part of Star Wars Celebration V, it is separately ticketed and you do not have to attend Star Wars Celebration V to attend this event.
