Also new this year is a photo opportunity with a “life-size” rancor. The giant beast, which was Jabba the Hutt’s prized pet in Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi, will be on display during the event. The handcrafted replica is 17 feet long and weighs more than 700 pounds. The reptomammal sculpture is well-traveled — it’s a popular piece at Star Wars events around the globe and will make its way to our park for Star Wars Weekends.

A trio of specialty “one-man shows” will be presented this year, giving guests a peek into the on- and off-screen worlds of three Star Wars celebrities — James Arnold Taylor, Ray Park and Warwick Davis.

• “Obi-Wan & Beyond” (each event day) stars James Arnold Taylor. James takes audiences on a journey into his wonderful world of voice acting.
• “Visit to the Maul” (Weekends I and II) features Ray Park. Guests can see a demonstration of amazing martial arts skills by the actor who portrayed Darth Maul on the silver screen.
• “An Ewok’s Tale – my short story” (Weekends II and III) stars Warwick Davis. Guests get a unique look into the fascinating world of this Star Wars legend.

Don’t miss your chance to meet acclaimed author Ridley Pearson, as we set sail for adventure with the release of his newest book, Kingdom Keepers VI: Dark Passage, the much anticipated addition to the Kingdom Keeperssaga. Ridley will be on hand for special appearances and signings at the following locations April 10-11, 2013.

The good news is, “The Comedy Warehouse Holiday Special” is returning by popular demand. Better still, the show is moving to a larger venue, the Premiere Theater, and its run is being extended to 14 days. Now, even more Comedy Warehouse fans and park guests will have a chance to participate in this uniquely hilarious live show.

For the uninitiated, “The Comedy Warehouse Holiday Special” presents the best of family-friendly improvisational comedy, as performers take suggestions from the audience and add their own brand of humor right on the spot, inventing holiday songs, stories, poems and scenarios.

“’The Comedy Warehouse Holiday Special’ is like a family reunion of the Cast of the Comedy Warehouse,” said Show Director Chris Oyen. “We’re so happy to be able to bring everyone together again for the holiday season and to put on this show. It’s a gift from our family to yours.”

“The Comedy Warehouse Holiday Special” runs from December 23 through January 5 and is included in regular Disney’s Hollywood Studios park admission.

The Legend of Captain Jack Sparrow is a walk-through attraction at Disney's Hollywood Studios that will allow guests to follow in the footsteps of Jack Sparrow to see if they have what it takes to join his rowdy and daring pirate crew. In this video from Walt Disney Imagineering, Imagineers Jason Surrell, Laura Mitchell, Charita Carter and Jason Roberts take us behind the scenes of the making of this new experience. According to them, creating an entirely new attraction based on the "Pirates of the Caribbean" film franchise was a dream come true, as was working with the film's lead actor, Johnny Depp, who reprised his role as Captain Jack Sparrow for the attraction's film elements

When you’re on the go, looking for sustenance and want seats for Fantasmic! at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the new Taste of Hollywood To Go meals fits the bill for the busy winter holidays. Offered from Dec. 22-Jan. 5 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, you can make reservations by calling 407-WDW-DINE up to 24 hours prior. (If you don’t have a reservation, you can check the day you are in the park for availability.)

There are five boxed meals created each day: cold fried chicken with roasted sweet potato and baby spinach, broccoli slaw and blueberry cheesecake; a veggie sandwich with tomato salad, tabbouleh and chocolate cake; tuna sushi roll with beet and apple salad, ginger-marinated tomatoes and cucumbers and a spicy pecan chocolate cluster; Cajun shrimp salad with beet and apple salad, ginger-marinated tomatoes and cucumbers and mandarin orange cheesecake; and cold-cut roast beef with creamy horseradish, potato salad, grilled asparagus and chocolate cake.

Our friends at Walt Disney Imagineering just shared these first renderings of what you can expect at this new walk-through attraction when it officially opens on December 6. In it, guests will journey deep into an eerie lost grotto, where a mysterious pirate skull puts them to the test to see if they have what it takes to set sail with the legendary Captain Jack Sparrow. Along the way, they must face all the perils of a pirate’s life as their favorite moments from the films come to life before their eyes.

The Disney Parks Blog has announced there will be a new addition to the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights this year...

The team behind The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights keeps looking for new ways to “plus” the show. This year, Santa Goofy joins the fun, making nightly appearances on the Streets of America. You’ll be able to meet him in Goofy’s Winter Wonderland, a special area set up right in Tri-City Square.

Also new is the addition of an eighth song for the dancing lights. Joining returning favorites like “Feliz Navidad” by Jose Feliciano and Barbara Streisand’s version of “Jingle Bells” will be a special arrangement of the classic “Winter Wonderland” by Creative Entertainment Music Director Dan Stamper.

Meet Ralph, the “bad guy” who really wants to be a “good guy” in Disney’s newest animated adventure comedy“Wreck-It Ralph.” In the movie, Ralph goes game jumping across the arcade to prove he’s got what it takes to be a hero.

Now, Ralph’s set to do some park hopping, too! Ralph will be taking the train from Game Central Station to theTomorrowland Starcade at Disneyland park, where you’ll be able to meet him starting this Friday, October 26.

Beginning October 28, Ralph will also be stopping in at The Magic of Disney Animation attraction at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, where part of the candy-coated cart racing game “Sugar Rush” is being recreated right now. So race on over to Disney Parks this fall to say “Hi!” to Ralph and his pal, Vanellope, and be sure to catch “Wreck-It Ralph” in theaters in 3D November 2.
