Final LaughingPlace.com Trivia Contest Now Underway
One of the original features of LaughingPlace.com is our weekly Trivia Contest. They started on August 1, 1999 with the rest of the website and actually pre-date LaughingPlace.com as they were a part of Doobie's Disneyland Home Page, the first website I ever created. Our current contest, #586, was posted last Sunday. I'm sad to report, this contest, appropriately entitled Memories, is also our last. We've decided to stop doing them - at least for now. LP would like to thank Mark Wharff who has created and graded the contests since 2002 and Matt Walker who did them before that. Please feel free to enter this final contest and say a word of thanks to Mark at the bottom in the comments section. And all you regulars, don't worry all contests will be graded and the Top 10 list updated with the final results before long. Thank you again Mark and Matt!

Tales from the Laughing Place Issue #15 Coming Soon
Today Tales from the Laughing Place Magazine announced the contents for their fifteenth issue that is due for release in January ‘10. Issue 15 offers stories from two Disney resorts separated by over seven thousand miles but whose histories are intrinsically linked. The first international Magic Kingdom that was built on landfill in Tokyo Bay relied on the attraction roster and styling of the original Walt Disney World theme park. Tokyo Disneyland even took possession of an ambitious Audio-Animatronics show that was one of the founding attractions at Magic Kingdom when it opened on October 1, 1971. “Issue fifteen celebrates attractions past, present and future at both Walt Disney World and Tokyo Disney Resort,” Tales publisher Lee J MacDonald begins. “Tales was present on the final day of operations at The Mickey Mouse Revue and we take an affectionate look back at the history of the thirty-seven year old show including some rare artwork and maquettes from the development of the attraction. In addition Tales talks with Walt Disney Imagineering Senior Show Writer Kevin Rafferty about the creation of its replacement in both Orlando and Tokyo namely Mickey’s PhilharMagic.”

According to the Disneyland and More blog, a major E-Ticket attraction based on the film Ratatouille has been confirmed for Disneyland Paris. An excerpt...
Forget about Splash Mountain, Indiana Jones Adventure or the Little Mermaid, the next Disneyland Paris big E-Ticket will be the Ratatouille attraction! This awaited E-Ticket which will be build at the Walt Disney Studios has been approved by the park's management and it's now confirmed - not officially, of course - that Ratatouille will be DLRP 20th anniversary E-Ticket.

Joe Rohde to be lead creative Imagineer for Disney's Hawaii resort
LP has learned that Joe Rohde, Senior Vice-President, Creative, Walt Disney Imagineering has been appointed as the lead creative imagineer for the first Disney Regional Resort being built in Ko Olina, Hawaii. The project, tentatively called Disneys Grand Hawaiian, is currently under construction. Joe retains overall creative leadership for Disneys Animal Kingdom Theme Park at Walt Disney World.

The official Tokyo Disney Resort website is now promoting Tales from the Laughing Place magazine.
In a new section for shopping at the Disney Gallery in World Bazaar at Tokyo Disneyland, Issue 13 is highlighted.
Focusing on events surrounding the recent 25th Anniversary, the Tokyo Disneyland Hotel and the story The Enchanted Tiki Room Stitch Present Aloha E Komo Mai! the OLC sees the issue as perfect for the Japanese audience. The recently released Issue 14 also covers the first international park with exclusive interviews about the park development along with rare and unseen artwork from the imagineering archives.
