Video: Romance Added to The Magic, The Memories and You at the Magic Kindom
Lat night Disney debuted a romantic addition to the castle projection show The Magic, The Memories and You. The new segment features the Disney princesses and is scheduled to run through mid-April. A sand castle segment is scheduled to be introduced this summer. The new segment starts at the 7:15 mark of the video.

Modified Parade Route at the Magic Kingdom
Due to pavement work in Frontierland the Magic Kingdom's Celebrate a Dream Come True Parade is running on a modified route. The parade travels from Town Square down Main Street, makes a full circle in front off the Castle and returns back down town Square. The Main Street Electrical Parade is not performing during this time.

Updated: President Obama Visiting WDW's Magic Kingdom on Thursday
The Orlando Sentinel has details on a visit to the Magic Kingdom by President Barrack Obama on Thursday. He's expected to announce a program called Global Entry which will cut clearance times at customs check-points. The event is expected at 12:15. Guests can expect extra security as a result. In addition, Disney has cancelled the park's Extra Magic Hours and extended hours and entertainment at the other parks.
Update: WDWMagic.com Reports the event will be by White House invitation only and Main Street USA will be closed from park opening until after the event.

Disneyland Updates Main Street Music Loop For First Time in 20 Years
For the first time in 20 years Disneyland is updating its Main Street background music loop starting today. From the Disney Parks Blog...
This time around, over a dozen new tunes, arranged and recorded specifically for Main Street, U.S.A., will join many of the existing songs. Included in the new mix are such iconic period pieces as “Meet Me in St. Louis, Louis,” “In the Good Old Summer Time,” “Alexander’s Ragtime Band,” “Oh You Beautiful Doll,” Scott Joplin’s “Maple Leaf Rag,” and a recent tune given a turn-of-the-last-century arrangement, Michael Giacchino’s “Married Life” from Disney•Pixar’s “UP.”

Casting Crowns – who just won the 2011 American Music Award® for Contemporary Inspirational Artist of the Year (its second such honor) – will headline the lineup for the 30th-year history of Disney’s Night of Joy Sept. 7 and Sept. 8, 2012, along with Christian music greats MercyMe, Chris Tomlin, Third Day, Kutless and needtobreathe. Filling Magic Kingdom Park at Walt Disney World Resort with the sound of contemporary Christian music will be more than a dozen artists with a 20-year legacy of accolades – including multiple GMA Dove Awards, GRAMMY® Awards and numerous other accomplishments.
Here’s the night-by-night Night of Joy 2012 lineup (entertainment, event times and schedule subject to change):
- Friday, Sept. 7, 2012: Casting Crowns, Chris Tomlin, needtobreathe, Red, Francesca Battistelli, Brandon Heath, Royal Tailor, Disciple
- Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012: MercyMe, Third Day, Kutless, Chris August, Lecrae and Thousand Foot Krutch
Newcomers to Night of Joy include Royal Tailor, bringing the 30-year roster of artists to 150 acts.
Night of Joy is an after-hours event that requires a special ticket. Event hours are 7:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. each evening. While artists perform at several stages, many popular Magic Kingdom Park attractions also are available for guests. One- and two-night individual Night of Joy tickets will be put on sale in the spring. In addition, there are special benefits for groups of 10 or more. The First Tree is Planted in New Fantasyland
The Official Disney Parks Blog has a picture of the first new tree being planted in the Magic Kingdom's New Fantasyland - and it's a big one.
How big? From the blog ... To give you some reference, the building at the far left with the red and blue roof is actually the second floor of Pinocchio’s Village Haus, which peeks over the construction wall into New Fantasyland. The tree is being placed near what will become the entrance to New Fantasyland. The building at the right is Maurice’s Cottage, which will house fun, interactive storytelling with Belle and Lumiere.

Dumbo, Barnstormer, Fantasyland Station to Reopen Early 2012
From Disney Publicity...
Look! Dumbo is going the wrong way!
Actually, Dumbo is just reversing decades of flying in counter-clockwise circles. Call it “unwinding,” if you will. And in a new location within Magic Kingdom.
Guests will board Dumbo the Flying Elephant from the lovable critter’s left side — like mounting a horse … and unlike the way guests hop aboard for a whirl at Disney parks on three continents. It is scheduled to begin happening in early 2012 when select experiences in the Storybook Circus neighborhood of New Fantasyland debut just northeast of Mad Tea Party.
Also early 2012, the existing Dumbo attraction near Prince Charming Regal Carrousel will close, be refurbished and be moved to a location in Storybook Circus next to the new Dumbo attraction. The result when completed later in 2012: double Dumbos, one going this-a-way, one going that-a-way … a real circus act, if you will.
There also will be a “big top” that serves as a queue area for the popular attraction. It will feature a variety of interactive experiences currently being developed.
Two other Storybook Circus elements planned for opening early in the year are The Barnstormer and Fantasyland Station. Guests who enjoyed The Barnstormer at Goofy’s Wiseacre Farm will be happy to know the junior coaster thrills of that attraction are back with a thematic change: Goofy has sold the farm and is now a circus stunt pilot and magician, The Great Goofini. The completely re-imagined train station will serve as the gateway to Storybook Circus and all Fantasyland points beyond.

Magic Kingdom Parking Lot Changes Begin September 23
Starting tomorrow the Magic Kingdom parking lot will begin some operational changes. A second tram loading zone will be opering transforming the lot to dual-lot operation with separate load and unload zones for each lot. The two lots will be known as the "Heroes" lot and the "Villains" lot.

Disney has announced a new role-playing game is coming to the Magic Kingdom. From the Official Disney Parks Blog...
Today, we’re thrilled to share plans for a new role-playing adventure coming to Walt Disney World called Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom. This is going to be fun – and it’s all happening inside the park. Merlin the magician will recruit guests to become apprentice sorcerers and then help them with maps and clues that show where and how to defeat an army of Disney villains.
The new adventure is scheduled to debut in early 2012.

Guests Stuck on Pirates of the Caribbean for Two Hours
CFNews13.com reports guests were stuck on Pirates of the Caribbean at the Magic Kingdom for nearly two hours when it had to be manually restarted after it stopped.
