The Avengers 2 To Start Production in Early 2014 Near London
CinemaBlend.com writes The Avengers 2, the sequel to the biggest film of 2012, will begin filming in early 2014 at Pinewood-Shepperton just outside London. The film is scheduled to be released on May 1, 2015.

Video: ILM Releases Behind the Magic: The Visual Effects of The Avengers to Celebrate Oscar Nom
From ILM's YouTube channel...
We are proud to present this video which showcases some of ILM's Oscar nominated effects work for the 2012 hit film, "Marvel's The Avengers". This reel represents a small fraction of the work created by over 200 ILM artists, scientists, and engineers backed up by a world class production team.
The stop motion animations which open and close the reel were done the old fashioned way - by hand, one frame at a time. They were crafted by ILM's stop motion guru, Erik Dillinger specifically for this reel.

Agent Coulson, and his barely-mentioned offscreen romance with a cellist who recently moved back to Portland. That’s what it’s really all about, True Believers.
So shout “Excelsior,” try to keep your eyes from rolling out of your head at the inevitable Stan Lee cameo, and join Mike, Kevin and Bill for The Avengers!

Stan Lee's Former Company Claims Disney Doesn't Own Marvel Superheroes
Stan Lee Media, Inc.claims they own the characters created by Stan Lee including most of The Avengers, and they are entitled to the profits Disney has made from them.

More Disney / Marvel Avengers Blu-Ray Release Issues
First Disney / Marvel had to delay the release of the Avengers Phase One box set because of a lawsuit over the briefcase used in the packaging. Now UK fans are upset that the DVD and Blu-Ray release in their country won't have the director's commentary and special features in the US edition. Disney says the omission is due to the time requirements for when the replication processes had to begin.

Disney Appears to Respond to Avengers Lawsuit With a Hold on the Collector's Blu-Ray Sale
A while back we reported Disney / Marvel was being sued by Rimowa because the briefcase used as a case for the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe Phase One Collector's Set was their Topas attache case. Now BleedingCool.com is reporting Amazon is no longer taking preorders for the item and the description has been changed to no longer mention the briefcase. In addition, some purchasers have received notification of a delay with its delivery.
