Tales from the Laughing Place Issue #15 Coming Soon

Today Tales from the Laughing Place Magazine announced the contents for their fifteenth issue that is due for release in January ‘10. Issue 15 offers stories from two Disney resorts separated by over seven thousand miles but whose histories are intrinsically linked. The first international Magic Kingdom that was built on landfill in Tokyo Bay relied on the attraction roster and styling of the original Walt Disney World theme park. Tokyo Disneyland even took possession of an ambitious Audio-Animatronics show that was one of the founding attractions at Magic Kingdom when it opened on October 1, 1971. “Issue fifteen celebrates attractions past, present and future at both Walt Disney World and Tokyo Disney Resort,” Tales publisher Lee J MacDonald begins. “Tales was present on the final day of operations at The Mickey Mouse Revue and we take an affectionate look back at the history of the thirty-seven year old show including some rare artwork and maquettes from the development of the attraction. In addition Tales talks with Walt Disney Imagineering Senior Show Writer Kevin Rafferty about the creation of its replacement in both Orlando and Tokyo namely Mickey’s PhilharMagic.”

Joe Rohde to be lead creative Imagineer for Disney's Hawaii resort

LP has learned that Joe Rohde, Senior Vice-President, Creative, Walt Disney Imagineering has been appointed as the lead creative imagineer for the first Disney Regional Resort being built in Ko Olina, Hawaii. The project, tentatively called Disneys Grand Hawaiian, is currently under construction. Joe retains overall creative leadership for Disneys Animal Kingdom Theme Park at Walt Disney World.

Tales from the Laughing Place, the only magazine dedicated to the creativity of the Walt Disney Company, was featured on the new Disney Gallery section of the official Tokyo Disney Resort website. Tokyo Disney Resort opted to highlight Issue 13 which features a cover photograph of Tinker Bell from Tokyo Disneylands 25th anniversary and a host of articles on subject matters like the design and construction of the Tokyo Disneyland Hotel with the original imagineering team and Tokyo Disney Resort Imagineering portfolio leader Joe Lanzisero discussing the new Adventureland attraction, The Enchanted Tiki Room Stitch Presents E Komo Mai! Official Tokyo Disney Resort website promotes Tales from the Laughing Place magazine

The official Tokyo Disney Resort website is now promoting Tales from the Laughing Place magazine.

In a new section for shopping at the Disney Gallery in World Bazaar at Tokyo Disneyland, Issue 13 is highlighted.
Focusing on events surrounding the recent 25th Anniversary, the Tokyo Disneyland Hotel and the story The Enchanted Tiki Room Stitch Present Aloha E Komo Mai! the OLC sees the issue as perfect for the Japanese audience. The recently released Issue 14 also covers the first international park with exclusive interviews about the park development along with rare and unseen artwork from the imagineering archives.

Tales reveals that The Muppet Show Season 4 is due out in 2010 and Muppet Whatnot Workshop to be launched at the Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort

Tales from the Laughing Place Magazine has been exclusively told that Season 4 of The Muppet Show will be released on DVD in 2010. In addition the interactive retail experience where guests can build their own Muppet Whatnot puppet will be coming to both the Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World in the near future. The FAO Schwarz location on Fifth Avenue in New York City and the FAO.com will continue to allow guests to design their own Whatnot but Disney will be bring two additional workshops to the US parks soon. It is likely that the Workshop will be at Disney's California Adventure Park and Disney's Hollywood Studios. Issue 14 of Tales from the Laughing Place Magazine will feature an exclusive interview with Muppets Studio General Manager Lylle Breier about present and upcoming Muppet plans such as the new Steiff Kermit teddy bear. Florida NFFC Show and Sale Sunday, October 5th

If you're in the Walt Disney World area, be sure to visit the Sunday, October 5th NFFC Show and Sale held at the Regal Sun Resort (a Downtown Disney hotel). And if you do stop by, please be sure to stop by the Tales from the Laughing Place Magazine table and say hi!

Sunday! Sunday! Sunday! The Regal Sun Resort becomes the place to be for Disneyana collectors, autograph seekers, and the just plane Disney crazed as Disneyana memorabilia vendors and dealers from all over the country exhibit their wares along with several very well known authors signing their Disney related books.

The 3^rd Annual NFFC Florida Convention and Giant all Disneyana Show and Sale is open to the public, however, convention attendees and NFFC members get first crack at everything. Doors open at 9:00 a.m. for registered convention attendees, 10:00 a.m. for NFFC members and at 11:00 a.m. the Giant all Disneyana Show and Sale opens to the public.

Speakers and special presentations take place throughout the day. The Giant all Disneyana Show and Sale ends at 5:00 p.m. Don't miss it.
