Fantasmic! coming to Tokyo DisneySea

OLC have decided to replace Tokyo DisneySea's BraviSEAmo! with Fantasmic! in 2012. OLC opted not to pick up the World of Color show as it was deemed too complex for Mediterranean Harbor. Fantasmic! is likely to be presented in slightly altered version from the current Disneyland incarnation.

Oriental Land Co., Ltd. announced that Turtle Talk, the new attraction at Tokyo DisneySea® Park, will open on October 1, 2009.  The attraction will be located inside the S.S. World of Color to open at Tokyo DisneySea in '11

We've heard the operators of Tokyo Disney Resort, Oriental Land Co., Ltd. have opted to replace BraviSEAmo! with Walt Disney's World of Color in the summer of 2011 - one year after the original show will debut at Disney's California Adventure Park. The Tokyo DisneySea version is likely to be identical to DCA's version.

Mickey's Philharmagic announced for Tokyo Disneyland

Oriental Land Co., Ltd. announced that a new attraction, Mickey’s PhilharMagic, will open at Tokyo Disneyland Park in 2011. Mickey’s PhilharMagic is a theater-type attraction employing Disney’s 3-D technology. Guests are invited into the theater for an orchestra concert, but Donald Duck causes a commotion, taking the Guests into a musical whirlwind through popular Disney films. It’s a fun-filled philharmonic mayhem into the magical world of Disney, with Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and other Disney characters popping out of the screen to just an arm’s reach away from the Guests.

Tokyo Disneyland Resort record attendance

Tokyo Disney Resort announced today that it had achieved the highest ever combined attendance at Tokyo Disneyland Park and Tokyo DisneySea Park for the first half of this fiscal year (April 1 to September 30, 2008). Total attendance amounted to 13,048,000 persons, which is an increase of 7.2% or 877,000 persons from the same period last year. The first half of this fiscal year coincided with the first half of the yearlong Tokyo Disney Resort 25th Anniversary celebration, which started on April 15, 2008. The anniversary year opened with a new daytime parade “Jubilation!” at Tokyo Disneyland, and also featured various 25th anniversary commemorative programs throughout the Resort. Moreover, the new Tokyo Disneyland® Hotel opened in July, adding to the appeal of Tokyo Disney Resort.

Tokyo Disneyland Chef Yasuhiro Shimomura Wins "Le Taittinger 42e Prix Culinaire International Japon"

Oriental Land Co., Ltd. announced today that Mr. Yasuhiro Shimomura, a 39-year-old chef at Tokyo Disneyland Park, was awarded the grand prize at the “Le Taittinger 42e Prix Culinaire International Japon.” This was Mr. Shimomura’s second entry in this competition. Having won the grand prize, he will travel to Paris to enter the “Prix Culinaire International Pierre Taittinger” to be held in December as the representative from Japan, and compete for the international title against contestants from seven other countries.

No new shows for Tokyo Resort

We have heard that there will be no new shows at Tokyo Disney Resort in '09. That means that Minnie O Minnie! and One Man's Dream II at Tokyo Disneyland and Mystic Rhythms, Big Band Beat and The Mermaid Lagoon Theatre show at Tokyo DisneySea will continue until at least 2010.

Stitch coming to the Tiki Rooom in Tokyo

The third incarnation of The Enchanted Tiki Room at Tokyo Disneyland will open July 25. The full name is The Enchanted Tiki Room - Stitch in Aloha, E Komo Mai (after the theme song to Stitch! The Series) and replaces The Enchanted Tiki Room - Get The Fever! that debuted in '99. The nine minute show will feature the original refurbished birds and the mischievous Stitch performing several songs from the movie and TV series. Stitch is an upgraded version of the Audio-Animatronic that is the centerpiece to the Stitch's Great Escape! attraction at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom.

Kim Possible Communicator technology coming to DisneySea

We have heard that Tokyo DisneySea is adding the Kim Possible Communicator technology to Fortress Explorations in Mediterranean Harbor. Guests will be able to explore the Fortress with their Communicator to uncover new hidden secrets. The Walt Disney Imagineering R&D toy should be added this year. Tokyo Disney Resort will kick-off its 25th anniversary celebrations with a new daytime parade "Jubilation!" starting April 15, 2008 at Tokyo Disneyland Park. The new parade is quintessential Disney and filled with everyone’s favorite Disney characters appearing in unexpected settings. There are spectacular floats, vibrant costumes, and breathtaking performances all presented for the first time at any Disney park.
