Coronado Springs Pepper Market to Test Out Buffet for Breakfast and Lunch
From Dec 4th to January 4th Disney will test running the Pepper Market at Coronado Springs as a true buffet. Breakfast price will be $14.99 for adults and $8.99 for children. Lunch price will be $16.99 for adults and $8.99 for children. In addition, the automatic gratuity will be eliminated and an optional tip line will be added to receipts. Pepper Market will continue to honor the Disney Dining Plan Quick-service Restaurant meal entitlement for breakast, lunch and dinner. During the test the Maya Grill will be closed for breakfast.

Change to Disney World Restaurant Cancellation Policy
Starting October 26 Disney has an adjustment to their restaurant cancellation policy for certain popular restaurants. Guests will be required to provide a credit card to hold the reservation and there will be a $10 per person charge if the reservation is not canceled at least one day in advance. The list of restaurants is:

The Second Annual Swan and Dolphin Food & Wine Classic at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotel returns Oct. 7 - 8 with even more food, drink, and seminars. New Desserts at Beaches and Cream
(posted by Doobie) Beaches and Cream, my absolutely favorite place to eat at Walt Disney World, has added two new desserts. First is a multi-layer chocolate cake. They actually had a chocolate cake before but this new one is larger and much, much better. Second is an apple pie that includes Ocean Spray Craisans. Both are served with a scoop of ice cream. Both desserts were very, very good. I'd even call the chocolate cake great. The only disappointment is they don't have a way to serve the apple pie warm. Beaches and Cream is well known for its ice cream, but with these additions my choice becomes a little bit tougher.
In other menu news, they've also changed their veggie wrap. I didn't like it before and still don't (Rebekah did, though). And prices have inched up on most items as well.

New Character Lunch Coming to Animal Kingdom Starting December 4
Disney has announced a new character dining experience is coming to Disney's Animal Kingdom starting December 4th. Tusker House will host Donald's Dining Safari Lunch. The lunch will be offered daily 11a to 2:45p with adult costs varying from $25.99 to $29.99 and children $14.99 to $16.99 depending on the seasons. Reservations are currently being accepted. Currently, Tusker House is opening for lunch without character dining.

Disney has announced slight date changes for Free Dining this fall. The new dates are for arrivals most nights 10/1 – 10/6, 10/22 – 11/3, 11/12 – 11/17, 11/26 – 12/1 and 12/10 – 12/15/11. Other great rates may be available for arrivals most nights 1/8 – 1/12, 1/21 – 2/2, 2/11 – 2/16, 3/3- 3/8 and 3/24 – 3/29/12. Cotton-Top Tamarin Cupcakes at Animal Kingdom

August is Cotton-Top Tamarin Month at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, the cute wisp of a monkey weighing in at around one pound. And we may just gain a pound (or two) enjoying these adorable cupcakes created by Pastry Chef Andreas Born.
Chef Andreas crafted a chocolate mold to cast both white and dark chocolate to create the cotton-top tamarin face. Dark chocolate shavings replicate the miniature monkey’s mane atop a generous dollop of butter cream. The cupcake is rich, dark chocolate.
The delicious sweets are $3.99 at the Coffee Kiosk at the entrance to Discovery Island, just across from the Cotton-top display. They’re also at Kusafiri Bakery and during August, at Rafiki’s Planet Watch, where all the cotton-top tamarin activities are centered.
In case you’re wondering just why there’s a cotton-top tamarin month at Disney’s Animal Kindgom, Aug. 15 is a national holiday in Colombia, South America – the “Day of the Cotton-Top Tamarin” – and Disney is doing its part to help save the endangered species.

May 4 – Post House Winery with Nick Geber. The Post House farm is in one of the preeminent wineries in South Africa’s Stellenbosch region. June 8 – Featuring Alex Dale, founder of Radford Dale Wines with Vinum vintages from the Stellenbosch region. June 15 – Ken Forrester Wines from the slopes of Helderberg Mountain in the heart of the Stellenbosch region, often referred to as the home of Chenin Blanc and other award-winning wines. September (date to be announced) – Mulderbosch Vineyards featuring from the Stellenbosch area, featuring winemaker Richard Kershaw who creates handcrafted and individual wines October 27 – Robin Back with popular Spice Route and Fairview Winery in the Paarl wine district of South Africa. From April 17 - 23 Disney World is enticing guests to eat lunch at off-hours by giving them 25% off their bill (excluding alcohol) with the purchase of any entree at select theme park quick-service locations before 11:30 a.m. or between 3p and 4:30p. In order to receive the discount guests must redeem a voucher. Wild Africa Trek Offers Good Eats, Too
Pam Brandon at the Official Disney Parks Blog talks about one of the hidden gems of the new Wilf Africa Trek tour at Animal Kingdom - the food...
You unwind at a private safari camp – keep your camera handy to catch wildebeest, giraffe, elephants and gazelles. If you’re on the early-morning trek, your double-decker, stainless steel “camp tins” have a half-dozen delicious tastes: in one, slices of crunchy fig cake with almonds; savory slices of bresoala (dried beef) and prosciutto; and a buttery smoked salmon roll with jicama slaw and lime vinaigrette. Tin No. 2 has Brie and dried apricots; pineapple, honeydew, cantaloupe and watermelon balls in a mint dressing; and strawberry yogurt with granola and dried cherries. Lots of wonderful flavors in small bites.
