TPA to release magazine at Saturday Burbank event

Theme Park Adventure Magazine Readies "Tarzan's Treehouse" Issue

Theme Park Adventure Magazine, an industry publication written for enthusiasts by enthusiasts, is debuting its greatly anticipated "Tarzan’s Treehouse" issue this weekend in Southern California.

On Saturday, April 29, 2000, TPA’s Tarzan’s Treehouse issue will be unveiled at Creature Features in Burbank, California.

To mark the launch of this new 70-page issue, there will be a special in-store event between the hours of 1:00 pm. and 3:00 p.m. During this event, Disney enthusiasts will have the opportunity to have their issues personalized by TPA Publisher/Editor-in-Chief Rick West, Senior Executive Vice President of Creative Development for Walt Disney Imagineering Tony Baxter and Tarzan screenwriter Tab Murphy, who has written a very unique introductory piece, bridging the gap between Walt Disney Feature Animation and Walt Disney Imagineering, titled "Two Worlds, One Family".

"We’re very excited about this new Feature Issue," said West. "It’s been a while since we released our Pirates of the Caribbean tribute, so the anticipation for this next piece has been mounting for several months. Once again, Disney enthusiasts will find that TPA’s created the definitive piece on another Disneyland attraction; this time, it’s Tarzan’s Treehouse. This issue, which features many behind-the-scenes construction photos of the Tree being rebuilt and the opening ceremony is packed full of information by Bob Baranick, who has since left WDI, and Tony Baxter, a long-time favorite of many Disney fans. In addition to these two fantastic interviews, our friend Tab Murphy, the gentleman that wrote Tarzan for Disney contributed with a very cool introduction just for our readers. The Tarzan’s Treehouse issue is quite a bit shorter than our Pirates issue, but it’s got all the heart of Pirates and in my opinion, more of an emotional story. I’m sure our readers will not be disappointed at all."

The Tarzan’s Treehouse issue will be sold for $7.00 (plus $3 shipping/handling) beginning May 1, 2000 on the newly reconstructed Theme Park Adventure Magazine Web site (www.themeparkadventure.com).

Signed copies will be available at Creature Features after the event while supplies last. Individuals unable to attend the event in person will be able to mail-order signed copies from Creature Features, also while supplies last. To contact Creature Features for directions or additional information on the in-store event, please call (818) 842-9382.
