Walt Disney Company Oscar Nominations

The Oscar nominations were announced today.  Some notes for Disney fans.

  • Saving Mr. Banks was shut out from the major awards; only receiving a nomination for Best Original Score
  • Frozen is nominated for Best Animated Film and for Best Original Song (Let it Go)
  • Disney Animation’s Get a Horse is nominated for Best Original Short
  • No Nominations for Monsters University
  • Thanks to Disney’s purchase of Lucasfilm, they receive nominations for non-Disney films; Star Trek Into Darkness and All is Lost
  • The Lone Ranger can be called Oscar nominated.

Here is the complete list of The Walt Disney Company nominees.  Look for my Oscar ballot later this week.  The Oscars air on ABC, March 2.
