The Star Wars Breakfast at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

The new Star Wars Weekend breakfast, running 7 days a week during the run of the event, started a little early on May 4th aka Star Wars Day.

When the breakfast was first announced, the event  sounded like it had the chance to either soar like the Millennium Falcon or fall like Boba Fett into the Sarlacc Pit. I am very happy to say it soars! After checking in at the station outside the Sci-Fi Dine-In you wait just like normal until you are paged “now joining the rebel alliance ______.” Once you step inside the door you will find a photo spot with the real stars; Darth Vader and Boba Fett complete with special Darth Vader photopass card.

As you are shown to your car, with the drive-in theme is still in place, you notice the screen no longer has the cheesy B movie trailers from the 50’s…it’s now Star Wars clips! From the speeder bike chase of Return of the Jedi to a montage clip of the prequels there’s at least 45 minutes of enjoyment for any Star Wars fan. By far the most exciting clips would have to be the first appearance of Boba Fett from the, hardly seen, Star Wars Holiday Special.

As far as the food goes, it is a pay one price meal so you have a good range of options for the main meal. You are also given pastries all with a Star Wars touch, an option of fruit or yogurt complete with a Yoda fruit head. There is a full selection of drinks including mimosa, Coke products, and of course Blue Milk! The entrées are all themed and very filling. The Dune Sea (pictured below) offer a very large piece of salmon while the basic option of the Tatooine Sunrise was a great option for the hungry Rebel Scum!

During the meal the other Star Wars characters come from car to car offer to pose for pictures, sign autographs, and in the case of the Jawas do some trading.

As the meal is wrapping up a strange cart was rolled up with some bubbling container and “dessert” for us. Since it was breakfast we thought it was a little odd to have dessert, but this item with no name was a great end to the meal. While it looked a bit strange, boba balls are the small color bits in it, it was not overly sweet or heavy. When I asked the server about it, she said it was just sprung on them today and had no name but joked it should be Boba’s Surprise.

While it might be a bit pricey, $47.99 adult and $29.99 kids, overall a great experience from start to finish! A must do I feel for any Star Wars fan!
